Bangalore Chennai is 360 plus kms and Shatabdi takes less than 5 yrs it normally covers the distance in 4 1/2 hrs.Vande Bharat take 4 hrs for the same distance

Shatabdi and Rajdhanis are old trains, in fact more than 3 decade old trains, Vande Bharat, is new train, Duranto, Garib Rath, are intermediaries . The first Shatabdi Express train was introduced in July 1988 by Madhav Rao Scindia, the then Minister for Railways. The train was started to commemorate the centenary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. The name "Shatabdi" means century in Sanskrit.

To operate such trains 4 vital things that must be met are: 1, The Track must be rated for high-speeds 2, the Rolling Stock/ wheels 3, The shock absorbing springs that keep the loco+compartments smooth to ride upon 4, a completely separate power unit to supply 110 Volt power for all electrical usages... The locomotive runs on 25000V AC overhead power supply...

Got your point. I wrote that, because I've seen in many videos of Pak's trains, in which I saw century old manual signals and guard cabins before and after a station. 90% of them were made before 1947 (saw year of building embossed there). At some places even names in Hindi are also visible though dissented.@@SuDeep_M9999

1500PKR that is, Indian 450Rs. doesn't sound too bad of a deal given if it's good train as you said. Rajdhani, Shatabdi etc. are good trains but they do cost upto Rs.4000-4800 INR. for a 2 day train journey.

vande bharat Train ab Flight fares ko takkar de raha hai, Speed limit 130 KMPH is fixed as tracks are not fenced. Now they are planning a 220 KMPH on this route soon 3-4 year's time, happy the journo appreciates the service ( it is average)
