From 1955 till 1990, railcar was considered to be the best inter city mode of rail transport. It was composed of one master + one trailer or one master +two trailers or simply one master.
The railcars were supplied by Austria, Germany and Japan.
Jallo Dabba, Ghazala, Subuk Raftar, Subuk Kharram, Noori and Rehbar were the best services of Pakistan Railways in the mid 1900.

Remembered the days of my childhood.. Used to travel between WZD to RWP to WZD by this Railcar which used to come from Narowal. It was called Sialkot Express. Fantastic days those were but I know those days can never come back now.

Their technical name is "Diesel Multiple Units" or DMUs. Two such Rail Cars plied between Rawalpindi and Kundian Jn and one between Kundian and Sargodha Jn. This was way back in eighties and early nineties.

we used to travel on rail car from Peshawar to Rawalpindi in the 80s and 90s era.

This railcar was also running between MALAKWAL JN. and Behra section during 1988-96 MALAKWAL-LALAMUSA section as well.

i traveled in this rail car from rawalpindi to lahore in sep,1968 with my respected daddy .it was my first journey by rail car.

Sadly our railways system has not improved since the olden days, except may be the online ticketing system. Some things were even better in old days like electric engines. The pace of our country is alarming!!!
