@@keronjinRYU They have used Ranna (Pinkish Crown) for the first 2 or 3 streamed sets I have seen by them (and who is also in this MV) and Kanako (ex-Hagane) for the December 23rd one (that you might still be able to check as well). Both are a good fit, Ranna has plenty of experience and can help them with performing as a young band (and Pinkish Crown is on hiatus, although they might be doing what Lovebites did after losing Miho and using it to try to get new members). Kanako doesn't have band as far as I'm aware. They might figure something out, but they at least have good guest drummers for the moment. Drummers will come when their name is getting bigger and they just might be testing out a couple of them to see if they are a good fit.

I started to follow them on X a while ago not knowing much about them, but am glad I did. Go back and listen to the growling and tell me it does not remind you of Fatima from Greed Five Eggs, This band has a LOT of really excellent elements and I will resist comparing them further. I hear a mix of many familiar bands here ... but you have said it before. When new music feels somehow familiar, that is when you know it's great!

!! OMG you are spot on! That is exactly who it sounds like! I think its interesting to compare bands at least when you are using it in a way to give praise to newer bands. Its terrible when people use it as a gate-keeper of sorts. Then again, its always tough to follow up a song when their previous song had such impressive comparisons lol. The more I listen to this song, the more I pick up on it and the more I enjoy it. ...They may have been robbed a second song on my to15 list ;)

@@Shreddawg Oh yeah ... comparing bands is the bread and butter of reacting. As a listener like me, you do it instinctively. To me in a certain part of this song it almost sounded like TRiDENT, but I feel like I need to resist making that connection as it is somehow a disservice to both bands. On a first listen through this song, I just really enjoyed the fact that it seemed familiar, and nothing more.

I do know what you mean, I can see that. The clean chorus also did give me SLIGHT BAND-MAID vibes as mentioned. Multiple listens have been great as I missed so much upon first listen lol.

These ladies are cool. I saw them with Paradoxx and a few other bands at Antiknock in Tokyo back in October. As usual for these bands they are awesome live and actually sound heavier than in their videos. A lot of these bands do that.

That is pretty cool! They seem like a pretty interesting band to check out live. There are so many incredible bands playing in the Tokyo area. I typically stay in Akiba so seeing bands is pretty easy, just hop onto the Yamanote line. Agreed, a lot of the bands are just ridiculously good and heavy live!

I'm not a fan of screaming/harsh vocals but other than that the song is really catchy and the contrast to the clean vocals is cool.

Yeah I was certainly surprised by them myself. I think it was still OK in the song, the more I listen to it, the more it works. Overall though, I dont think they were necessary. It certainly was a heavy song!

They were using quite a bit of harsh vocals in the last livestreamed set I saw by them from December 23rd. They used it on multiple songs and when introducing a song similar to what Nana does with Fate Gear/Gungire, more than previous times. She did a pretty good job on the harsh vocals live, but I hope she learned how to do it properly because it's easy to screw up your vocals if you don't, eg. you can hear Mayu is doing her harshes differently and uses them not as often compared to Nemophila's earlier songs. It was overall much better than last 2 times, less mistakes although the soundquality wasn't the best as far as the bass and guitars goes (not their fault, it was probably the mix of the stream). They used Kanako (ex-Hagane) as a drummer this time instead of Pinkish Crown's Ranna. But I agree, I have a feeling they are trying to find their sound. I like harsh vocals (usually prefer them over cleans) although I was surprised by them as well the first time I heard them use them. I don't think it always worked and she still needs to work on them live even though it was pretty well done, I think they will get there eventually if she doesn't hurt her voice. I personally prefer this track over most of their other released ones. Not a huge fan of the chorus, but it works in contrast with the harsher parts. And yes, I can see it being a spot of contention for a lot of people. I know plenty of people do not like harsh vocals, I have seen it under Nemophila and Hanabie reactions plenty of times. It's one of these things that took me some time to get used to when I started listening to metal a little over 20 years ago but once I got used to them I started mainly listening to music with harsh vocals until I got into the Japanese rock/metal scene 2 to 3 years ago.

That is awesome information! I am glad to hear they are getting better live. There is always going to be growing pains when it comes to that. They really do need a permanent drummer though. Screaming/growling is very hit and miss, its very easy to mess it up or overdo it for sure. Its like salt, you need to sprinkle a bit here and there, too much will ruin a dish. Regarding the screaming vocals - I always say its about finding a balance, there are some bands that do it incredibly well imo. NEMOPHILA/HANABIA/Little LIllith are all incredible at mixing screaming/clean vocals and heavy music. For the vocalists, screaming is always something that worries me a bit as it can be quite rough on the voice and end someone's career. Even with Mayu, it worries me that she can hurt her amazing voice. Shes just so damn good at screaming though lol.

Your right about it being all over the place. There was something in this one for everyone to enjoy. I loved every minute of it. Those screams were well placed and done very well. Has anyone mentioned the band STMLT to ya? They are awesome as well with five songs so far. TWILIGHT is their latest. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/op10hbtlrrLZdYU.html

Yeah I was totally caught off guard with the screams and even the structure of the song. It was so unpredictable. I have listened to it a lot since filming and it really is quite a nice song. There is a lot to try and take in for 1 listen though, thats for sure. Yeah actually I had STMLT mentioned around 9 months ago and then about 5 months ago... Just havent gotten around to them :P
