Back in April 2022 we traveled back to South America to visit another country. This time we traveled to beautiful Colombia (Medellin, Guatape & Cartagena). While visiting Cartagena, Colombia we took a day trip to visit Palenque. Palenque is located 70km/43 miles south of Cartagena. Palenque, a black community in rural Colombia is known as The First Free Town for Africans in America. Palenque is a village full of Afro Colombian men and women. A village of about 4000 people, a mile and half long. Palenque is a colorful community of dark skin Afro Colombians with thick natural beautiful hair, full of culture, beauty and history.
