My son recently discovered your channel and is obsessed with your show. I won't admit to how many hours he has watched in the past few weeks! He is six and is now saving his money so he can go to Florida and hunt for shark teeth. He also tells me that he is going to ask Santa for a Paleo Cris Pack next Christmas. I have never been sifting fish or teeth or on dirt roads looking for shark teeth before and I have never found any sugar teeth but I have a huge collection which most of my teeth come from you thank you so much!

Very cool and a new sub here! Lived down around G'ville when Ize young like you 2. Spent a lot of time exploring abandoned quarries. The walls were lined with all kinds of old ocean stuff, sand dollars, shells, and only once did I find a shark tooth. Was gonna make it into a necklace but lost it. I need to come jump in with you all and get me another one!

Great seeing you and friends on What the Hales. I subscribed to your KZfaq, what are you’re friends names on KZfaq? Would love to see more of y’all working with Jeremy on his 70 acres. I’m in eastern NC and my grandparents had a summer place near Aurora NC where there is a huge phosphate mine. My grandpa would buy their gravel from them in the 80’s for the road to the camp on the river. My brother and I would find huge Megalodon teeth in the gravel. Being so young, we had no idea what we had found. We just knew they were super cool. Once home in eastern NC we kids had a creek we played in and found humongous scallop shells in areas where the creek bed had eroded. My parents used them as ashtrays. All of us ignorant about finds. I find it amazing that y’all find such wonderful fossils so close to the top layer of gravel. Happy hunting and I hope to see more digs on Jeremy’s property.

Beautiful old Florida scenery! Wayback in the early 50s our Girl Scout troop went in canoes down the hill koala river in Florida I love the silver river to our campsite. This reminds me so much of what the scenery look like in those days! It’s so comforting to know that there are a few places but now I have not change that much. I am new dropped in because of the Hales! Have a good time. You look like you’re having lots of fun. Watch out for snakes and gators!

When I was a bit younger I would of died for these hunts.... my Father spent his time showing us children the fossils in shale banks, bigger river banks & untouched woods. So have fun & stay safe...

Bri and Chris, what adventures you take and fossils you find! Like your adventures and your finds! Question: if the water was so cold why were your hands and arms hot and burning and swelling?

chris get your self a clam rake and cut the prongs off then have a flat bar on an angle for dragging welded on the mouth of the rake then put a fine wire basket around the back and then you can rake up and sift as you drag we do that here in maryland for indian artifacts you guys could scrape up all kinds of stuff and make it much easier than that big sifter

I have sooooooooooooo many sharks teeth [i only found half and my grandfather gave me the rest] my biggest tooth is a 4in meg tooth without the top though. It also has serration

Chris... Really enjoy watching. Here's a thought, keep a small box, like a small tackle box, with your "field trip" gear. Pack it with zip ties, cordage, asst'd hand tools that you may need... you know what you might need in a semi emergency. Some folks call me a " prepped" but I just say it's a form of insurance. Yes, I was a boy scout. But that was over sixty years ago. Every outing that I go on with friends, they always find me if there is any sort of minor emergency. I've even patched a hole in a small boat. My approach is to think about what could go wrong and have a plan for it.

Very cool vid. Thanks I live in southeast Georgia about 60 miles inland. When I was a kid my dad had a deep well installed here the farm. It's a 10" well that went down 900'. There was a 5' mound of small sea shells and lots of sharks teeth after it was finished... we were amazed. Just to think of an ocean once here 900' below my feet. Well ., Mother Earth is old.

Canoe wheels go slightly behind the center of gravity to reduce the bow weight. A few extra bungies in a Y from the top corners of the brackets to the top of the canoe will keep the wheels lined up w/ the direction of the canoe pull

Chris I where a pair of crocks with my waders. It's more comfortable than just the wader boots. Also a cordless sawzall works wonders for clearing tree jams. 👊😎👍

there's probably fatwood in the base of that pine tree, and im surprised you dont have a folding saw like a corona saw or silky saw, would be useful to have for what you guys do!

Should have tied your softer with some small vines or braided grass or something. 😄 The twig galls are probably a result of gall wasps. I’ve never seen a wasp cluster quite like that, with the flattened shape, but bees do love geometric groupings. A little hole in a gall means the inhabitant has exited. Gall wasps don’t live king as adults, so they don’t eat. Pretty cool find. 😃

I want to go sharkteeth hunting so bad. Unfortunately the dutch shores dont offer so many teeth. I have found pieces of fossilized spine though.

Looks like an oak gall. The culprit is a tiny wasp that lays its eggs under the bark; always at tips of limbs. The favorite tree-host is so-called pin oak, no doubt swamp pin oak. cool show!

I lived a few years near a well-known deposit in France (so many hours spent digging eocens sands !), and I'm quite shocked to see the amount of great finds here. Also, such a nice time you'd spend with your girlfriend, sharing your passion.

I have been told that coffee colored water means the river is very healthy. I don't know how true that is but i love the color of that water!

Cris if those Portage Wheels were attached solidly that canoe should be able to be pulled by one person with all your gear inside. If you set those wheels in the center and had one person at the bow and one on the stern it should be easy to pull. Were the wheels full of air?
