‘Palestinian state could not be harm to peace’: Palestinian representative to the UN

Ziad Abi Amr, the Palestinian representative to the UN, said granting Palestinians a sovereign state will pave the way for “true peace based on justice”.
Peace would greatly beneficial to the entire region, the ambassador said, stressing that the Palestinian leadership has always supported a diplomatic solution.
“How could this recognition and this membership harm international peace and security?,” he asked members of the UNSC.
“Such a decision to grant full membership would be an important pillar to reach peace because the Israeli-Palestinian conflict now goes beyond the border of Palestine and Israel and impacts other regions in the Middle East and the world.
“So we believe that it’s high time for the Security Council to shoulder its historic responsibility and give justice to the Palestinian people to adopt a resolution to accept Palestine as a full member of the UN.
“Those who are trying to disrupt the adoption of such a resolution, they are not helping the prospect of peace.”

The “territory” of Palestine has only existed since 1947. Before Jordan ceded in 1947 the territory was known as Transjordan. There has never been a country of Palestine.

I agree with Palestine being recognised as a state. I also agree with Israel as a state. The problem is with people who refuse to except the other exists. I've heard people on both sides simply say no jews need to go back to Europe. I've heard that Palestinans aren't real there Eygptian or Jordanian. Until everyone fully excepts eachothers right to exist there, I fear there will never be peace. 😢

Palestinians don't have to justify for their full membership in the UN, on the contrary Israeli team should justify if they have the right of holding Israeli statehood in occupied Palestinian territory.
