‘She kept kicking and beating me, she refused to give me my head cover. It was pure torture, she was very vindictive and extremely violent and resentful, they all were. They were abusing me in all means, physically, emotionally, sexually.”
On the day Amena was captured she left her home seeking shelter, roaming from school to school finally sheltering at Abu Al-Helou school. Amena along with 9 other women were kidnapped by Israeli soldiers on 28 December 2023 and released on 8 February 2024.
In this MEE exclusive, this 44-year-old recounts her time detained and details the sexual, emotional and physical abuse inflicted on her by Israeli soldiers.
