What a precious little guy. Those tiny chubby hands & cheeks disappear so quickly. The best gift we receive are our children. I was getting discouraged about making a pallet playhouse for our kids, but this reminded me that it's not about "perfection" it's about making memories.

We're building a shed from pallets too. We were fortunate enough to find some other great stuff. When picking up pallets, a couple of places had OSB, Plywood, and even pre-made wall panels. Major score.

I’m very jealous, I have been working up to asking Krispy Kreme if the want three small pallets behind their dumpster. Lol

@@recreationalland2585 I found a couple of places on Facebook Marketplace that said they have a lot of pallets and get more all the time. I've been to those places multiple times. I found a couple other places just by driving by a place, seeing a big stack of pallets, and then asking if they're using them or trying to get rid of them.

The problem I'm running into is the wood splits as soon as I drive a nail or screw in. I pre drill which helps till you tighten the screw down and it splits. Even the 2x4 splits. Not sure if it's just the type of pallets I'm getting ?
@nathangregory39012 жыл бұрын
Use any kind of bar soap and screw the screw into it and then into place or shave it down to a powder and use his enough water to make it a paste and dip your screws in it before you install them , that will help prevent the wood from splitting , grant it , it may not work everytime , but it will majority of the time❗
@nathangregory39012 жыл бұрын
And if you blunt The Sharp point of the nail it , that will work like the soap with the screw❗

@@recreationalland2585 the ones I've seen used on KZfaq generally are still bigger though tbh and also much much better Quality wood! Ours are all the crappy off cuts of wood half rotten split pieces of bark for slats and not solid but usually blocks instead of 4x2s or similar lengths like the US ones some are even made of compressed wood on the blocks so pretty useless to reuse often. There are the odd good ones but it's difficult to find and the better ones they treat with chemicals and paint blue or red so makes them useless to upcycle generally unfortunately. Have to be lucky to get good ones that are heat treated think they're more imported ones from outside the EU...
