As the team prepares for Dr. Mallard's (David McCallum) funeral, Palmer (Brian Dietzen) is putting some final touches on the eulogy he has prepared. With the help of Dr. Mallard himself, Jimmy feels confident he will make his friend and mentor proud with the words he is going to say.

Palmer got to learn from him and worked closely with him. He lives on in that, and that is an encouraging thought.

Palmer wasn’t the only one who got to learn from Dr Mallard. Ziva, Tony, Bishop, McGee, Vance, Morrow, Jenny, Quinn, Torres, Reeves, Sloane, Abby, Parker, Knight, Gibbs, Kasie, and Kate all got to learn from Ducky as well.

What I heard that ducky died in real life I started crying And even typing up this comment Just thinking about it is making me cry Because every time I saw Doctor mallard On screen Because of his words of wisdom and his stories And how he treated people Make me think of my grandfather And how I know I'll feel when I lose him

Jessica Knight wouldn't blame Jimmy Palmer if he cried so hard in her arms because Ducky was Jimmy's mentor and his idol. Will Ducky's younger half-brother on his father's side be seen again whether he was told of his big brother's departure or not?
