Over the past couple days I've seen some people have managed to automate it. But I've also seen that some people have tried the exact same things, and it simply doesn't work. So it sounds like it's potentially a bug. A really annoying and game breaking one. I have no idea what the difference is. I've tried multiple bases that are filled with either coal or ore and left it alone with food and pals that are 2 - 3 in mining and often came back to nothing. Can't say I would be surprised if it were to a be a bug considering how insanely buggy the game is. To the point where the system that's intended to increase your capture rate instead lowers it.

i can t agree with the statemant that you need to much ore, one automated ore base and you never have a problem again.
