My regulars in my stream started asking about Palworld like 3 days before it launched and I was aware of the game but had ignored it since it was announced. I took a look at the new trailer with them and realized it was a survival crafting game and said "fuck, I'm going to have to buy this" and I did.

As a SG1 fan I'm a little ashamed I didn't make the Anubis connection until I was pulling images for the video and noticed the Pal was named Anubis which prompted me to grab an image of the actual Anubis statute and I think I made the fallout 4 connection right before finishing editing because of the weird arm positioning on the statue.

The problem there is that none of their assets would be stolen or copyright infringement then. They'd be in the clear if that's what they did since the models would be their own work.

I literally showed a screenshot of the person who did the 3d model comparison admitting he only made the AI accusation because he had issues with the morality of the game. I am 100% familiar with the argument and I said I think it's total BS because AI art just isn't that advanced yet. Right now it seems to exist solely for racists to make shitty racist artwork.

So, exactly what humans do? They study art and then make representations of that art? Peoples issue is that another artist using code as their art medium created art which utilizes reference material like human artist's do? Kind of sounds like a lot of people don't understand how art works. Today I learned Banksy ripped off the guy who invented the paper shredder with his "Girl with Balloon" piece since it incorporated a paper shredder into his art.

The difference is thus- Davinci created the mona lisa, Tim Burton's Joker walked into an art gallery and started spray painting over existing works of art and writing his name on them. Davinci didn't need the Mona Lisa to exist to create the mona lisa but the Joker couldn't defile the paintings in the museum if they didn't already exist. To be clear, humans take inspiration but also add imagination and technique, AI can only steal it cannot create, it can alter an image but to do so it has to sample other existing artwork, there is no imagination and no creativity and no inspiration involved because AI is not capable of those things. AI is literally just the The Joker defacing paintings in the Gotham museum. Are you familiar with Steamed Hams the AI that got banned from Twitch? All it did was substitute new words into an existing script but eventually it started generating a super racist version of the script which got it banned. Do I think the Steamed hams AI is racist? No, because AI doesn't have the capacity to be racist just like AI doesn't have the capacity for independent artistic expression.
