Thank you! I am working right now on moving all my Prismas into a larger case so that I can use that case to house all my Black Widow pencils in one place. When I get to that, I will definitely be filming to it. I am also testing out different papers with the Black Widows so I can do a coloring video. Have a great day!

I have noticed with the previous sets that they need sharpening first as the coating on the new tips does change the colour. Some of the colour names that clearly don’t match the colours are purely for the makers (Albert) sense of humour. Thank you so much for this video as we still waiting in the uk for them

I just got min a couple weeks ago. I had all 3 sets ordered by color and switched that way. I didn't reswatch them when I got the skin tones, but I am going to put all of them together sorted by color. Love these!

How exciting! I was so happy to get mine when so many others were getting theirs first! I will be taking all my Prismas out of their current case and moving them into a bigger one. This way I can house my Black Widows all in one place in that case. I will be doing a video showing how I put all the Black Widows into color order very soon. Have a great day!

The SD on the pencil stands for Skin Dark and SL is Skin Light.

Great video! If you go back at your other sets though they've always had numbers on them and also letters abbreviating the set for example BW25 on Lemonade. BW for Black Widow, and CB04 for VenomCB for Cobra set etc.

Very nice color variety. I hope there aren't duplicates between the sets. I think they need someone new to name their colors!! 😉 So many don't make sense for the color!! 🤣 I haven't gotten black widows yet. Still trying to sharpen and swatch what I do have so I can color, lol!! 🤦‍♀️

I must’ve gotten all new sets when I got mine because all of mine have letters and numbers on them. I love these pencils! Still love my prismas more. Lol. Great video!

I can't wait for my set to arrive. The colors are really nice and I think they will fill some gaps for color combos if you use a highlight, midtone, and shadow style coloring. The names are pretty bad on some of them. Fudge is a horrible name for the color. I'm new to your channel. I enjoyed the video and thank you for swatching the new pencils for those of us still waiting.

This set definitely filled in a lot of gaps. I love all the "highlight" colors that are available to us now with the entire 144 set. I was laughing at the name "fudge"! Didn't you know fudge is pink?? LOL

I have been sitting here for a couple hours already sorting out all the pencils by color. It's so tedious, but trying to make sure it's right. Some of the colors are a bit strange and it's difficult to decide which color family to put them with. Some of the new colors are very different colors than what you'd find in a set like Prismacolor. I will definitely be doing that video and we will be swatching them together by color family. Make sure you're subscribed so that you will be notified. Have a wonderful evening.

If you could only get 3 sets from black widow pencils which ones would you choose?

I would probably start with the first three original sets. You will get all the colors you need with those sets. Then I would add on as you’re able to.

You asked about a poison green. There is no poison green but there is a toxic green and a venom. Yes, I would love to see how you classify your colors. Struggling with that now. I agree you wouldn’t need to buy the light skin set with this one. The dark skin set is still very worth buying. My shortest pencils are in the dark skin set and I don’t color people. Good video!

Did anyone else's come damaged? I got the Black widow set and Scorpion set and both have issues broken leads and pencil damage and box dented. I do leave mine in the tins but this one I can't because it's really damaged.

I put all (I have all the sets) in color order and put a # sticker on them. This way I know where they go in the case and I can look at my swatch book to see the color and my number of each pencil. That is the biggest downfall of these pencils is you can’t really tell what color each pencil is. (In the other sets)They should color the end of all their pencils like this monarch set. I do like these pencils a lot and I have many sets to compare them to.

These are supposed to be wax based, do you find them better then the Prismas? Can you get them open stock?

They are wax-based, yes. No, I don’t find them better than Prismacolor, but they are wonderful pencils with an array of colors just like Prismacolor. They see harder than Prismacolor and will hold a lead longer. They blend beautifully too. If you contact Albert on the Black Widow Facebook page, he can let you know about open stock.

I usually throw them away. I don’t care for the black Widow tins and so I don’t keep them. My other tins from other sets I do keep though. Some I even keep on the box or tin they come in like my Luminance or Pablo sets.

I wonder why they put an elk on the case instead of a monarch butterfly. I like the elk but it just doesnt go with the name. The cobras had a cobra, the scorpions had a scorpion, etc. And now we have the monarchs with an elk. 🤷‍♀️

I agree! I didn't understand that either. I think a lot of people were complaining about the spiders and creepy crawlies on the other packaging, but loved the pencils. LOL They definitely should have had a butterfly!

The name comes from Landseer’s famous painting Monarch Of The Glen. It’s a red deer stag.
