I'm very impressed with the way these colored pencils, lay down . I love the more oil percentage based pencils, but I do have the 150 prisama color pencils set. I'm thinking of buying these, along with the Kalour 240 set, and the Markart 120 set.

I just got my set of 96 pencils yesterday! I've been using the 72 set for a few months off and on. I love these pencils! They are very smooth and I really like the way they are numbered and organized in the box.

I love these pencils!!! These are one of the few pencil lines where I approve of the number order the manufacturer used. The 72 set had each pencil 10 numbers apart (010, 020, 030) and the new pencils in the 96 set fill in some of the gaps.

Pamela, I got these in the mail today from Amazon. Thanks for the suggestion. I got the 96 set for 30.00 they were on sale. I jumped right in and started to color with them. I really like them. Thanks for all you do for us. 🌻

I have been using these pencils. They are a great alternative to the more expensive Polychromos and Pablo's. Would highly recommend to new pencil colorists. They lay down very well.

Thank you for the video and taking the time to prepare a swatch chart. The only suggestion I would have is to add a space for the color number, as many of us use the name and/or the number to find a pencil. Thanks again!😊

I just ordered the 96 set after using the 72 and they were stolen in a move. I'm not replacing my prismas at all after using these. I prefer oil to wax based as I hate the bloom. I don't use gamsol, but like baby oil blending which I will eventually try with these. Thanks for the review. Often while I wait for the arrival of my shipment I get excitement from looking at reviews.

Just got my set of 96 Schpirerr Farbens!! Getting ready to swatch them and I wonder if you have a list of the color order you put yours? I am assuming your swatch chart is blank with no names? Also, did you sharpen all of them before swatching or did you swatch them as they came in the tin? Thanks, so much!

Hi there, beautiful coloring. I did purchase a set of the Schpireer Farben 96 set. Sadly, while these are oil based pencils and should not run if water is applied, the set I got from Amazon did run terrible with water. Would you please test yours and kindly let me know if the color in your pencils move around when water is applied. I contacted the distributor and she recommended that I return to Amazon and purchase another set, but I am reluctant to as I believe I’ll just get another set that is defective. I purchased mine in January. Many thanks for the information.

Thanks for the video! It seems like the 96 set of SF Pencils may have more blues and purples than the 72 set. ( At first glance watching you swatch them ). I have always enjoyed these Pencils , and would like to have the larger set. As long as the extra colors aren't alot of grays I'm good!

I have a question.. Have you tried the creyart pencils? If so, do these color anything like them? I bought the creyart about 6 months ago and I HATE them! So much so that they have scarred my pencil buying experience. I have the 72 set of prismas and I want a set to use with them to add to my color range. I have my eye on these but im scared to buy them because I had such a bad experience with the creyart. Creyart also claims to be an oil based pencil but I have serious doubts because of the amount of build up (looks like wax bloom to me) its impossible to get an even layer of color and they COMPLETELY dissolve when water(or any liquid for that matter) touches it and not even in a good watercolor way.

Hi there! Thank you for spending so much time and attention on this coloring crazy we all love :) I was just wondering if you have the Cezanne set and have compared them to the Scrpirerr Farbens? I have heard they're the same, and according to other videos I've seen that show lightfast testing, the SPs have better lightfastness than most budget colored pencils. Since the Cezanne set has 120 vs the SP's 96, I was debating which to choose. I believe the Cezanne set has more grays and metallics, which I'm not interested in - I don't use metallics, and Prismacolor has plenty of grays. Unless the SPs or Cezannes' have blue-grays, which are much more rare, for some reason. It would help tremendously if you have swatches of both you could show side-by-side. I've seen videos of each, but not by the same person, and due to differences in lighting at each person's home, I can't really compare them. I do appreciate all your work. I can't tell you how much time I've spend studying your swatch charts :)

Hi Kathy, I don't think they are. They are about the same size as most other oil-based pencils.

The bigger sets are usually less costly per pencil, at least where I live.

The pencils are very thin and hard to hold for a while. I have arthritic hands.

If you want to consider thinner pencils, you may want to try pencil grips. I bought a large bag of foam ones on amazon for cheap to use with my feela which are also a thin pencil, and my hand does not get sore when i use the grips with them.
