Ooh your channel just popped up randomly and I'm here for it, loving the simplicity of your dishes, good home cooked food with everyday ingredients and you don't need to have skills like Gordon ramsay 😊.

Thank god for channels like this, as it keeps traditional dishes alive.....too much poncy chefy food about today, most of it wouldn't look out of place in an art gallery.

Totally agree. Simple recipe and great instructions.

I can't abide poncy recipes with poncy ingredients. Celeb chefs always on about "the best local ingredients.' Since I was a bairn 65 years ago, our dad's used to swap 'the best local ingredients ' from their gardens and chicken coups each weekend at their local pubs. Plus pretty flowers too. The chefs think it's something they've made trendy. How wrong!

That reminds me a lot of Stovies we make in Scotland, pretty much the same ingredients but cooked slightly differently - on the hob rather than in the oven, but likely equally as delicious! As an aside, I can't believe how quickly your channel is growing, it just goes to show how much of an appettite (no pun intended) there is for no frills home cooked food these days.

Love your channel ❤ I did the panagety dish tonight for my family and they loved it. Watching you reminds me so much of cooking with my nana . She didn’t waste anything and her jam tarts were a lovely treat with a cuppa tea after we finished all the baking. Lovely memories. I’ll be doing more of your recipes for sure.

Just found your channel. I love how all your dishes are for regular folks and not for chefs. In Sweden we have a similar dish made with flank steak instead of bacon and corned beef - we call it sailor's beef. I love this type of recipie as it is so versitile.

Hi, just made this, it gives an insane smell off as it cooks, really hearty and tasty my husband ate 2 bowls, I made it with a smoked gammon from Aldi and I just thought you should mention that gammons need soaking to remove salt, I can really appreciate how tasty this would be if it hadn't been so salty, unfortunately I couldn't source any bacon pieces in my area. I'm gonna try the egg and bacon pie next but think I'll wait until I find the bacon pieces. Thank you for this recipe ❤

Wow! I’ve always called this corned dog hot pot, which I love. My panackalty consists of, sliced potatoes, onions and cheese with seasoning, no liquid, just grease the dish with beef dripping. I know that everyone has their own recipe of course, but I’m from Newcastle too. They are both equally delicious and the cheese one goes very crisp on top and bottom, and is a nice meat free option. You’ve made me crave both dishes, I’m going to have to make them very soon lol xx

Hi. Im new to your channel but ive subscribed as i recognise the accent. I was born in Durham City. Moved to London 55 years ago. Still have cousins there. I have continued the tradition of cooking like my mam did. Our Panakilty was with corned beef and sometimes the addition of bacon. My 'Southern ' family love my ' North East' baking/cooking. Sunderland used sausages. I watched your bacon and egg pie, too, which i also bake. I like to visit Bolams in Sedgefield when im home to buy Peach Melbas. Plus, i buy kidneys there as they're often not available here. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
