Thanks to a careful examination of Leopold I's portraits and reliefs a 3D model was created so we can see clearly the very interesting face and the characteristic Habsburg Jaw of this Holy Roman Emperor, King of Hungary, Croatia, and Bohemia. During whose lengthy reign (1658 to1705) Austria emerged from a series of struggles with the Turkish Empire and the French to become a great European power, in which monarchical absolutism and administrative centralism was rising.
We also see the faces of his three wives, Margaret Theresa of Spain, Claudia Felicitas of Austria and Eleonore Magdalene of Neuburg.

His last wife Elanore was a great match for him intellectually. And all that she accomplished as Empress, WOW! You GO girl! She was a total Boss Betch. AND 6 of her children survived until adulthood? Back then that was a great track record. She was pretty too.

Those are not Habsburgs, but Habsburgs-Lorraine, just far collateral branch of the real Habsburgs: Carlos V, Felipe II. Ferdinand, Maximillian, Leopold...

Some of the noses were completely different. They had more of a convex shape . And knowing that painters were almost forced to embellish their models, I think the computer images didn’t do that much justice to the real features of girls faces.

Your videos are wonderful, particularly when featuring the Habsburgs. Margarita Theresa of Spain is worth an entire video as she was subject to many Velasquez paintings including "las meninas."

Thank you! It's great to learn the history of this part of the European royals, including their quite unfortunate tendancy to inbreed and the consequence of that!!🧐 By the way, I had never known until now what countries made up the "Holy Roman Empire"! And thank you too for this information about the lifetimes of the wives 🤓😁. And fabulous face reconstruction too 👌 superb!

Eleonore was born in Düsseldorf, Holy Roman Empire, on the night of 6 January 1655. She was the oldest of 17 children born from Philip William, Count Palatine of Neuburg and Duke of Jülich-Berg and his second wife, Landgravine Elisabeth Amalie of Hesse-Darmstadt. On her father's side her grandparents were Wolfgang Wilhelm, Count Palatine of Neuburg and his first wife, Magdalene of Bavaria. On her mother's side, her grandparents were George II, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and Sophia Eleonore of Saxony. Of her three sisters who survived into adulthood one became Queen consort of Spain, another Queen consort of Portugal & the third Duchess consort of Parma.

They made the lips smaller in painting than they were in reality. The fashion of how they portrayed people differentiated so now and then. So both woman didn't have those small lips in real life as portrayed here and often big noses or big eyes are sometimes not as much the case as well depending on the time it was painted.
