The answer to your question is simply this..........US doctors are no longer independent. They are employees and they must answer to "for profit equity groups" that now OWN them along with most of the US hospitals which are owned by "for profit equity groups" as well. There is your answer.

It is best not to give the impression that physicians in the USA don’t care. The problem in the USA is that insurance companies dictate what physicians can do. And then there is the very real problem that health care organizations put a daily quota on the number of patients physicians MUST see. I truly do not believe it’s a lack of caring - it’s the scarcity of overworked physicians being run by factors they have no agency over. I experienced this first hand. My physicians have always cared and It is tragic the time they have to spend fighting insurance companies for control of their patient’s care. My son is in medical school and they see the realities of practicing in the USA are increasingly terrible for physicians. Of course there are crappy ones, but Most are truly in it for patient care. Very happy for you and your wife - this is great info.

Just want to mention that Insurance Companies impose limits to try to keep costs down so the premiums aren't so high. I have my battles with Insurance Companies too. It is frustrating and time consuming for patients and Health providers. Malpractice is so high in the US due to Frivolous lawsuits that make Malpractice Insurance costs high. Legitimate Lawsuits are understandable and necessary, but the US could use some limits. I do feel for doctors these days. The high costs in the US make it even more difficult for doctors. Unfortunately it is a bad situation all around.

I hear from many who saw many different doctors in the US or Canada but they just wanted to prescribe another pill or do another surgery. Then they see a Panama doctor who gets to the root cause of the problem so a cure is often possible.

My husband and I live on a farm here in Texas and it is hard for us to take the tour. What route did Billy and his wife take to get all the information they needed to make the move? We have lived in Texas all our lives but are sick of what has happened to our great country and we are ready to retire to Boquete. I know Billy said it took 6 months and we would like to get started now planning to make the move. We plan on renting and been looking online and seems to be several nice houses for rent. My husband plans to keep working and we will probably invest in Starlink so he will have high speed internet. We have watched your videos for years and are so excited to finally start the process of making the move.
