Thanks for the review. I have one on an Olympus OMD. It is a very good lens Very Sharp. Good detail. Can't fault it. You could pay a lot more to get the same quality. It's nice and fast too.

Your video is the only one in hundreds i have watched that actually talk about the distance between you and the camera which is all i wanted to know. My videos are pretty much recorded in a room like you are in this video and i wanted a bokeh effect that the 12-60 f3 isn’t giving me. I have a few of the cheaper manual focus super wide lens with f1.8 but im almost always missing the focus 😂 doing all the focusing of me on my own is so tricky… so thx for the info here.

The 35mm equivalent 50mm lens is something you aspire to. It takes some photographic experience to understand just what it is you’re working with. Most Street Photographers start out with a wide angle lens. 28mm is very popular the same as 35mm which is probably the most popular Street Photography lens and goes a long way to explaining just why the Fujifilm X100 series of cameras are so popular. But for superb artistry, the 50mm is unparalleled. Although you do need to understand just what you can and can’t do with it. To get you started with any 50mm lens, you could do with an understanding of how the art of composition really works. If The Art of Composition is a subject you feel you could do with some help with there are plenty of books on Amazon and KZfaq vids to get you started. Once you have a firm grasp of the basics of The Art of Composition and a basic feel for how the geometry of a picture works, your photography will quickly move up to the next level. It’s not hard and it’s not rocket science. In fact it’s easy and you will be delighted with the results.

Great video - Great lens for the dollar but for video the f1.4 is superior with its larger focus ring and worth the extra dollars - heaps of second hand f1.7’s on eBay but the f1.4s get snapped up for almost new price - I ended up missing out several times on eBay and price was almost new so purchased brand new

What are your in camera settings to achive good focus and sharpness?

it does not have stabilization. i m struggling with it for videos, footage is too shaky. Any way to reduce/eliminate shakiness?Using stabilizer is the only option?

Hi. Great shots. I've got the G80 and the 25 mm F1.7 lens. Haven't used it much yet, but wondered if those still shots are strait out of the camera or changed in post.

Not sure if I can explain the problem I'm having with this lens but I hope you can help me. When taking pictures I have such a small area of focus that for example taking a picture of my dog has her nose being super sharb but not rest of her face. Is there a setting where I can "open" up the area of focus? Thank you in advance - Richard Love

Hey, I just bought this lens for my G7. You know that huge knob that turn on the lens, what's it's main function? I mean, whether I turn the know to the left or to the right, nothing changes. The knob does not zoom nor focus. The knob just turns infinitely to either side. I'm lost. I mean, I guess there's a function for the knob but I have not clue whatsoever.

Hello, I recently moved over to the Panasonic Lumix G90, and the kit lens I got with it was the 14-140mm, this camera will be used primarily as a video camera as we also have a Canon EOS 7D mk2 for photography. O:42 , What? Yeah, it's what we professional photographers call a "normal" lens. If you want a wider view, then what you need is what is technically called a "wide-angle lens."

Get this lens and the Rokinon (or Samyang whichever is on sale...same lens) 12mm 2.0 and Bob's yer uncle.

I dont know if it is a problem with my lens, but it won't autofocus below about f3. It will focus if i tap to direct the focus. 1.7 does not focus at all. It did drop on some carpet, and i wonder if it was damaged in some way?

Does it have a manual focus option?

Geeky Nerdy Techy I came to hear specs of the Lumix 25mm f1.7 and you spent 4/7 of your 414" talking either bragging about the fact you spent what? 400AUD for 2 of them? (must-have if using Pana bodies) monitors, scenes like: "I'm a tooby this is how I do it..."LAAAAAAAAMMMMMEEEEE. You even mention YOUR MAIN CHANNEL, but you fail to redirect stream.....you got the goods, don't let them get the best of you!

I own this lens and I hate it, idk why people keep posting videos saying it’s good. The only good thing about it is the blue and green reproduction is ok. Just okay. It is not very sharp (even in the middle). Unless it is your first prime just stay clear
