Perfect camera in my opinion: 4k Full Frame - 120fps, 16 stops dynamic range, 32 bit xlr ports included, 6 stops nd filter included, 40mp camera, + Internal Raw Recording on SSD/NVME, battery grip with NVME port included. Price: £1800 👏. That would be a value for money camera that would be worth investing in.

I loved the S1h. The mark ii with the new auto focus will be awesome...all I shoot is corporate interviews, talking heads and weddings for a living so the M II will be a perfect hybrid camera to go with my C70.

The S1H, which I own, SDI connections would be better than HDMI, it has a dynamic range of up to 12.7 stops, so getting that to nearer 14 would be far more important to me than 8K. If the 8K sensor is so fast that when shooting in 4K there is NO rolling shutter jello on whip pans great. But I couldn't see any reason apart from that to upgrade to mark 2. Also, maybe internal 12 or 16 bit raw recording to cf express, or external to an ssd via usb c.

12 bit up from 10 bit would be way more important than anything here, if they could do Pro Res 444 that would disrupt the other cameras in this range no end, I suspect it's unachievable with this sensor. Internal ND's does help.

@@sulimankhan8322 ?? umm I'm not sure what your question is in relation to my comment , defining " better " is impossible. The BM 12K Pro costs about 2&1/2 times the S1H in my country, you can't get Pro Res 444 as the 12K Pro is tied to BM Raw , I have a S1H & Ursa Mini 4.6K , I shot my last Feature with both , they're both good cameras

@JeremyBOutdoors I would rather have 12 or 16 bit RAW internal recording if you want to talk about flexibility in post.

A7s4 and fx4 will be quad bayer 20 plus mp. That's hardware binned 80 mp at least. A7s3 is already quad bayer hardware binned 48 mp. Sony isn't starting with all those pixels then dropping down for no reason.

8K no lumix doesn't see the need for it yet but they have patented internal ND's for hybrid cameras

With a price tag of ~4.000 USD, there are several better solutions for cinema productions. I‘m also no fan of these production cameras in a still camera body. They have always many disadvantages. Especially in ports, mounting options and audio.

also the fact that it makes people look like shooting video is a side hustle when they show up to set with one

fair point however if you need a camera that does not look like one of these cameras there are cameras built just for that such as the FX6. these cameras are for people who need or fancy this camera body style. similar to tablets, phones and laptops.

@Renaldo868 bro half these men talking about what it makes them look like on set Def never shot on one of these coming from a red camera to s5iix was crazy for me. The fact that I can get the shot done tell the story and move on to the next day of shooting with a breeze is amazing for me as is. We all love and respect the big cinema bodies but imagine just not carrying around an additional 25lbs all the damn time 😂💯👌 I'll start posting content with the s5iix soon cause people have no idea how crazy panasonic went on these. Talking a set of things about technical specifications is cool, go out there shoot a story and lemme know what you really thinking.

well i agree with you in many ways but sometimes another person's perception is an important part of what it takes to get hired again.. that's just the way it is in some markets unfortunately. good luck out there. there's more competition than ever. but there's also more content than ever so maybe those two aspects cancel each other out. lol @@valiantfilmstudios1620

mark I weak points: huge hdmi lag, bad rolling shutter, crop 4k60, no AF, heavy compared with competition....

I’ve got a s5ii I love the colours, stabilisation yes stabilisation isn’t used on professional shoots anyway, but not better colours than canon or codex, but the s1 h is still a cool camera
