The S5 APS-C crop is still slightly larger than 4K. It’s internally downsampled to 4K and looks freaking great!

Got this camera a few months ago and the image quality in both photo and video is soo good. The dynamic range of V-log is insane

I feel like it's great also for vlogging style format where one person is in front of the camera and the other one is behind the camera. Basically having a cameraman filming one or more people in front of the camera. A "documentary style vlog" for a lack of better words.

Hey mate, great video. Absolutely love it and I fell in love with this camera. What could be a good lens for this camera to have a very sharp subject with a very blurry background? Fantastic review. I'm very close to buying this. My one reservation is the Leica L lens selection. Seems very limited and expensive. Hopefully, they will roll out a wider range of cheaper lenses in the future.

You kept mentioning Canon, and Sony as comparison, but what do you think about Nikon z series, which can also shoot RAW (albeit 4k not 5.9k)? I heard Nlog may be better than Vlog with 1 to half a stop batter dynamic range, and great color science to go with it.

Really great review my friend, well done. Only one thing: you don't lose AF for every type of slow motion, only if you go above 120 FPS. If you stay at 120 you still have AF. Of course, whether or not you trust it that's a different story :) :) In my use actually the AF is very reliable IF you stick with Panasonic glass AND you don't go wider than F4. Good day!

Considering this or R6. Not sure what to get. So far I'm in Canon ecosystem and have all gear for Canon. I'm also pleased with all what Canon R has to offer. R6 have even more. Though times to chose the best camera for you.

Man, I really don't know wether to pick up that S5 or a Fuji X-T4...... The X-T4 body isn't far away from the S5 💰, but the FF/Pana lenses are financially out of reach. I wish I knew how big the performance gap between the sensor sizes really are and if FF is worth it for a hobby photograph. It's either the S5 + one or two lenses - or the X-T4 with a few more..... 😐

1:25 = it does not look like a DSLR, since it isn't... name implies the existence of a mirror, which as the actual name suggests, it does not have, ergo the "mirrorless" denotation.

Ok. I need a camera to shoot lucha libre style wrestling. But mind, you i may need to be in front of the camera to perform with wrestlers. I need the auto focus to switch at times, but i still need somewhat of a cinematic look, but only at specific times. I will not always be able to set my own focus. Slo-mo would be a great feature as well. Which cam should i purchase? Looking at all these options is getting overwhelming.

They should make a firmware update for the audio because even with a Shotgun Microphone it's still peaks badly

I think this is a really good review but I would but I would say that there's one caviot aimed at the vlogger who is going to put out material on places like KZfaq KZfaq and You can shoot in 60 frames per 2nd 10 bit UHD and you're not gonna see a big difference on KZfaq and that 60 frames for a second we'll give you twice the scanner rate for your focus and so your focus is gonna be twice is accurate and so for the vlogger this Emma will be fine. I am starting to do blogging and I and I shoot documentaries that shoot still photographs and so far this camera this camera has done just fine in auto focus. And last month I went ice skating outside with the family and it actually with human tracking pick out my family members out of the crowd and focused on them rather than other people in the crowd it was just I was blown away So that is a cave yacht that I would add to your video.

Ive hrard the 1080p is pretty poor and if you want 60fps you may have to be in HD so this is a problem with the S5. If the HD had been good it still would have been my choice for social media content.
