In this video Xeno and friends play through the normal mode of the Pandaemonium Raid and defeat all bosses. This is their first time seeing the raid. Watch this video till the end to see their first time reaction and see Xeno lose to normal difficulty content KEKW.

Hemitheos = Demigod. Hesperos = duskbringer. Phoinix is pronounced Phoenix, like you already pronounce the latin iteration. The mythical bird's origins are greek. Hippokampos = Sea horse. Aristotle was the first to write down the taxonomic traits etc. Poseidon's chariot was driven by the mythological monsters Hippokampoi, that's where the name is derived for the sea horse animal. Erichthonios = (Chthonic = that of the underworld, Eris = discord) One that hates/despises the underworld. Erichthonios was a mythical king of Athens, half man, half snake. He was born of Hephaestus. One version mentions Hephaestus tried to force himself upon Athena, that had come to him with a request of new crafted garments. He ejaculated on her thigh and she wiped it off in disgust. The semen dropped on earth, and Erichthonios was born from Gaia.

@@NeoDMC That's been the theory for a while now, since the Seats of convocation come from FFXII, and Lahabrea was the one that created the spirit Ifritas (that Azem subdued in that volcano). Hephaestus fits lahabrea the most.

Ericthononios is specifically spawned from Hephaestus trying to rape Athena and was raised as her son, which is reflected in his lore. His mother was Athena, who he loves and his father is Lahabrea, a creator, who he hates.

A lot of people calling this too easy. It's like you've never done the first 4 of a normal raid tier before. Or a normal raid tier in general. It's literally always easy and most of them are always one shot even by pugs.

@@VampireNoblesse uhhh, I haven't done hyd ex yet but everyone I know, myself included, is saying how easy zodi ex is. It legit only took my pug 5 pulls to clear it with ease. I had a much harder time with Titania in shadowbringers.

Same, but I like it when they put a bit of a twist on them. Phoenix was just played a bit TOO straight for my taste. But hey, who knows, maybe savage is more interesting :)

If I'm right based on the name of the gear you get this is themed after a bit of dante's inferno where next will be Hell and the final tier paradiso (Heaven) and seeing that all of the amorot stuff is based on Greek I feel that's a safe guess. Such an awesome theme

Yea, thats pretty right. Aphodelus basically is the afterlive for "common souls". Next up they arrive in the Hell pracitcally and then heaven at the end.

I loved how they incorporated a lot of the Greek mythologies in the names and tied it to story and the boss attacks and designs. I am thinking that Lahabrea's Greek name is Hephaestus, the smith god or the god who creates. Lahabrea is a creator. It also ties with the plot we know so far.

@@ElsaChan597 Actually, Erich's mom was stated to be Athena I'm pretty sure. Which is actually appropriate, as the Greek legend Erich was born from Hephaestus having his way with Athena. Or at least tried to.

normal is somewhat braindead because its for casual players, most of them just want some raids and storyline… for raiders, its ex, savage and ultimate… like, why would they make a normal raid hard, one that would take u hours to beat just for a story

Exactly. I think its smart. You get all the casual or story focused players through with some degree of challenge but not too much, so they can get the hit of story, while also making sure there is a version of every fight for the hardcores.

Oi in Greek got transliterated to Oe in Latin and then to a long E in English, so for an example being "oik-"/"home" root became "oec-" in Latin/Old French and then "eco-" in English: "economy", "ecology". This expansion has been a blast as I took Homeric Greek and Latin in high school

People saying it’s easy might finally be ready for savage content that’s usually the first sign when normal becomes very easy and you understand the mechs right away cuz normal raids are for casuals so if it’s easy move on to savage but calling easy content easy is for plebs

@@maybeitsyou1317 They may not be in BiS if they haven't cleared the new Ex trials, which I'm sure some haven't, still tho, they'd be 570 ilvl if they'd made any sort of effort to even clear expert dungeons/ roulette post 90, and 570 ilvl is definitely not undergeared for this anyway.

Asphodelos is literally derived from Asphodel which is a flower found in Greek mythology in the underworld.

Nah, Asphodel meadows are the place normal people that led honest lives go to when they die. A distinctive flower grows in those meadows, Asphodel. The flower's name is derived from the place.

Extremes are literally a higher difficulty than normal raid, by a decent amount. Normal trials sometimes are harder than normal raid. Savage is where it's actually hard. The jump between the two is huge. Much bigger than the jump from normal trial to extreme trial.

Just a curiosity: The tier gear is called Limbo possibly because in the Japanese version of the game this tier is called 辺獄編 (Limbo). Asphodelos seems to be an adaptation, not a direct translation of the JP name of the tier.

The fourth fight really gave me major O3S Halicarnassus vibes. So excited for Savage! Halicarnassus is still one of the best savage fights in this game in my opinion. Still holds up really well today.

I'm not sure if they already saw it, but in the fourth fight if you watch the tiles, you'll notice that the pillar will pulse before the mechanic goes off, and if you're not in position a second after that happens the snapshot gets ya.

I'm interested to see how the difficulty will scale to savage. These were very very easy even for a normal mode. I don't expect 3rd tier difficulty as they tend to slightly bump each tiers difficulty in the same way they make each fight more difficult. The aesthetics of the fights look really good though. Can't wait to actually prog these.

I felt like Eden was easy as hell compared to this raid I actually struggled a bit but I actually just started playing this game this year probably that’s why but these guys are really good it took me a minute to complete the first three but the last one was easy.

The 4th boss felt like trial-and-error to figure out. You don't know what anything does until after it goes off, and you either got lucky and dodged the attack or you got unlucky and got hit. Zero tells of what any of those animations mean. You figure it out eventually but it is just "oh, it's a proximity marker" (after everybody is dead)

It's based on previous bosses with the element for the most part. Leviathan (water) always has those KB pillars of water in it's fights that work the same way. Ramuh has the lightning spikes in E5 that work the same way. So there is *some* early warning. But also, that's just kinda how fight design in this game works. Some bosses deliberately do the opposite of what old mechs trained you to do, like the proxy marker in O4 that has a KB resolve first, and kill everyone who tried to resolve the proxy marker.

@@Mijeme123g A lot of the Ascians are named after greek gods, Hades, Hermes, etc. The name pandemonium is also a word for hell, made up of part-greek part-latin language. The armour reflects this as it looks very reminiscent of clothes worn by ancient greeks. I agree, it's not the best looking armour, but it is reflecting what it is supposed to reflect.

Yeah man Gate was so sick, arena, boss design, ost, mechanics, all very cool (except leviathan f*ck leviathan that sh*t made me half asleep even in savage lol) this tier was nothing compared to that. Will see if Savage changes my mind.
