It was thought to be impossible. This level marked the end of the game, unintended by the creator, for an entire decade, as no one ever thought it could be beaten. But then in May, everything came together, and this once-thought final level became possible to complete. This is the full story from start to finish of the infamous BFDIA 5b level known as "I'm Sorry".

For all of you wondering, you can enter level 54, but it's literally just a blank screen. There are no characters, no tiles, and not even a title. If you watch the video until the end, I actually do show what happens when you enter level 54 :) (Also yes, if you enter from the level select screen, the background flashes really quickly. The game just kinda gives up at that point.)

Wow, this is an amazingly-made video! It’s so crazy that a simple 5-tile wall I drew to stop all people from advancing was not only beatable, but also required such an advanced method to beat that it took over a decade to find. Korzen, congrats on all your ingenuity and dedication, and wow I have learned that speedrunning is INSANE

unfortunately not, since 5b was made in flash, it'd have to be COMPLETELY remade in something like unity or html5 before a true level 53 can be made

@@MeesterTweesterIt's not just based on BFDIA, it IS BFDIA. It's made by the creators and is part of one of the episodes (that's where the 5b in the title comes from). Sadly, due to the game never being finished, we never know what happened between level 52 and 5c. Although, with BFB being finished and TPOT being managed by a separate team, there is a small chance we might see a return to the game.

Great video! Although, I have one question. After having Ice Cube being thrown to the other side of the wall, can't you just grab boost with Book and Match to the other side instead of having Match clip to the wall and grabbing Book from there? I mean, you've shown that it's possible to grab boost with Book and Match even when there's 3 playable characters.

Good question! Yes, it is theoretically possible to do that, but as explained in the 3rd chapter of the video, that is very, very hard for a human to do. One day, someone could pull it off though, and that would be an AMAZING DAY

Ice cube changes the way you have to press the buttons so even if it would look like they're double boosting, they're actually doing the inputs for an ice cube boost without ice cube. This is why the wall clip is required because you're emulating the motions for throwing ice cube over the wall, not each other. Then using that combo to boost each other over the wall.
