I don't care what the critics say Love Bomb is a brilliant and my sister who was a theater major said it had all the elements of a rock opera.

The Tubes are my fav artist besides Devo also Gary Numan and his band's music then and now. I am a diehard Tubes fan since spring 2001 before that I only knew ''She's A Beauty'' why I hate the radio not played it since 2000 voluntary. I always liked this album love this review guys! Stella is the character from the vintage classic film ''A Streetcar Named Desire'' from why that made that song I like B Movies more but good movie and cool song to make influenced. Yeah, and Theme From ''A Summer Place'' the 1959 Movie I have yet to see with Sandra Dee. Richard Egan is great and Arthur Kennedy. Troy Donohue is pretty good I like and know the 1rst two more. Bill ''Sputnik'' Spooner sings a lot of the songs. Vince, I didn't know did Muscle Girls I think that is a cool yeah that is accurate about the vocals. Rare to have most of the band sing, usually it was Fee or Bill on lead vocals.

Foster used session musicians, he wanted to have a whole side to himself on the next record. Tubes used Rundgren and he help build a studio, Fee made a solo record with foster that tanked, so Capitol didn't promote love bomb and Fee quit. Bill Spooner was the main songwriter in the begining but Fee wanted to be a Reo Speedwagon type aor band at the end of the 70s and be "taken seriously." Fee got his way and still quit.

Loved the record and the tour seemed like a rehash of the 83 tour obviously no money spent on it but still the music was great

Experimental, wacky, and brilliant and Todd Rundgren and the tubes were such a brilliant collaboration its almost like Todd was a 7th member of the tubes

I had seen the tubes a couple of times when this album came out, and then went to see the live show. Todd and Utopia opened! I have to admit, it was the first Tubes concert that sort of bored me. I don't think they were really that into it and the Love Bomb songs were mostly inferior (Except Piece by Piece). I saw them several years later around '93, touring smaller venues when Fee had returned, and they were doing a show with no costumes or anything, just the songs. That was certainly a different thing, and the songs really did hold up alone.

...piece by piece is great...as you are is cheese..one good reason is fantastic..bora bora/love bomb...awesome..nite people great..tracks 7,8,9,10 don't belong anywhere...for a song is also great...and FEEL IT is a masterpiece...........

Grant, can I get your email address. I would sincerely love to be on your upcoming January 28th (2024) show 'The Great White North'. The Tubes Love Bomb album was anticipated as being a continuation of what most Tubes fans were hoping would be a trilogy of hit albums in the vein of Backward Completion Principal and Outside Inside. Radio never carried any songs from Love Bomb after a few weeks post-release and the album hit the delete bins within the year. I was never a fan of David Foster's association with the band, IMO he castrated the potential for these (now) heritage bands to be heavier and continue on their rock and roll trajectory. The Tubes played a local Amusement Park 'shed' concert in '85 where I worked back in the day. They sold a respectable 7,000+ tickets, yet later the next year once Fee Waybill was gone the Tubes played a strip joint in north Toronto to a 100 people. I lost track of the band after that.

Reviewers suck, not this album. Love side 1 but side 2 is brilliant.
