needless to say... a mind-blowing collection consisting of many gems, most of which already hinted at in your first video which is still treasured by me and never seems to get old. But hell, plenty of new material that I can hardly comment on but would love to see more of. Are you seriously indicating it was a spontaneous decision to step in front of the camera? Anyway, I am glad. 2020 seems to bring something good after all.

you have a face attached to those arms and hands...! You got down to the Schuiten books and I nearly lost my mind. Absolutely beautiful and it reminds me of how much I love his art. I need to revisit him again myself soon. Did you say that you have done a video about that art book? Must be one I missed, what a book! Good to know about Valerian, I felt the same when I read the first two volumes recently, was a little too cartoony and didn't really grab me like I thought it would. The coloured versions of Barbarella look incredible! The Humanoids version I have is all black and white. I watched an older video from Mind the Comics and that put me on to doing a search online for more Euro comics, stumbled on to Druuna there. Saw the art and it immediately made the list. The full figured woman might have had something to do with that. Lost in Time! Man, I loved the single English volume I found by Gillon and Forest. Really wish there was more. I only have two volumes of Don Lawrence's STORM and to be honest, I haven't really given them a fair chance. His art is incredible though...might be time to pull them off the shelf again and give it another go. Killer video. More!

the artbooks were included in pan227. ... and yes, Druuna, the lady really helps in terms of appeal and such :) if you want to check it out, you may start with Druuna zero/Anima... it's not the best book of the series but it's a silent story so you can pick up the italian, german or whatever version.

Absolutely a platinum level of awesome in that collection. i could not help but drool a bit. i got myself back together after wiping away and jus sat saying "Yes...>next book< yes. ..>next book, talks, i agree... < Yes!......" Once again i feel sorry for our American friends who don't get to know, let alone SEE most of these books....at least as to say not enough of them do because, honestly, this gear is the best and outshines the rest by a long shot. Moebius is revered by nearly every sci fi / fantasy artist (writers, pencil/inkers, film directors and set designers and costume makers) worth their salt and he's only one of the great European creators. You, sir, have earned yourself a new sub. Hoping to find a look at some of the films made from some of these great artists. i'm still throwing the Blueberry film at people, even though it doesn't follow the books greatly, i see it as its own thing that Moebius did sign off on and is a blast ! If you haven't done that, maybe worth a video on them ?

What an amazing collection of books. I love Druillet, Moebius and Jodorowsky but they have a lot of work that I haven't read yet. Very keen to continue exploring those creators. I've had my eye on the work of Don Lawrence for a while now, Trigan and Storm both look stunning. Definitely want to get into those as soon as I can afford a few purchases. I almost picked up Trigan a month back, but Storm might have jumped the queue. So many more here that I want to read like Druuna, Bilal's work, and Valerian. Wonderful tour! Thank you so much for sharing your passion and perspective along with all these beautiful comics. It's a real pleasure. Also so nice to finally have a face to put to the voice! 😊

I also agree with you about Valerian. The big-foot cartooning in the beginning of the series is kind of silly, but as it progresses the art becomes very beautiful. I currently have volumes 2, 3, 6, 12, 13, 14, 15, &18. I started buying them after I saw the film adaptation, which I thought was pretty good, but the male lead actor was an odd choice.

I am also a big fan of Druillet, he is really on another level in psychedelic sci fi comics! He is also very unique, at least as I take it, his work is very heavily permeated by his life and feels so true, honest and straightforward . Each feels like a piece of art communicating way more than purely a story - as the pages of Night are full of griev and hope, Gail is soaked with pain, depression, kind of 'no way out feeling'... I was so eager to see Chaos, and I somewhat releaved that he, as Sloan challenged his Shaan... but maybe I am wrong, who knows :D Anyway I would be very much interested in your review of 'Chaos', and if you had similar impression.

Meka (1 HC book) by Morvan , Warship Jolly Roger (2 HC) by Runberg, Captain Victory and the Galactic Rangers (1 Trade) by Joe Casey, Sea of Stars (2 Trades) by J.Aaron , Shangri-La by Bablet, ( haven ‘t read the “ Chixin Liu graphic novels - so no comment), Sci-Spy Complete Series(1Trade- older series) by Moench, Eclipse (i believe you have it …4Trades) by Z.Kaplan, Symmetry (2Trades) by Matt Hawkins, Under (Titan books) by C.Bec, Downward to Earth (1HC I believe heard it from you) P. Thirault, Infinity 8 (8HC) by Killoffer, All the Skydoll books (100% sure I saw them in your videos) by Barbucci, Chrononauts (2Trades) by M.Millar, Orbital (8Trades) by Runberg, Wings of Lights (1Trade) by J.Verlanger and last but not least Dune the Graphic novel! I definitely see your point Iman. As a swede I think you can pick up the basics of the German language kind of easily. Many words are/feel similar, both in reading and speaking. I "read" German in secondary/high school, which pretty much meant I sat in the back of the classroom drawing for a couple of hours each week, for three years. This was a long time ago and I can't say I remember much but when I recently bought a German copy of Storm I found it surprisingly readable, even with my limited German knowledge. Though I have to admit my interest lies mostly in Don Lawrence's art, which usually fills in the gaps.

Greetings from Texas, Earl Grey. It was great to see you in the video. I finally got an affordable copy of Brussels, albeit in German, since the English version is presently for sale on Amazon for $80 +. I've given The Leaning Girl to 3 people and not one has read it. I thought I'd given it to readers who might find it interesting, but apparently I was wrong. I'm no longer buying anymore to give away, especially since now the English version is getting expensive again (As is Theory of a grain of Sand). You have a great library, as you've heard me say many times, but unfortunately many of the books you showed have not been translated into English or are unreasonably expensive. I've been doing as pleasure reading as I can, because after tomorrow, Tuesday and it's aftermath will be taking my time. Before I watched your video I'd finished reading Gideon Falls (I finally completed my collection in singles and was able to read it) in one sitting. On weekends I wake up early to read. I made the mistake, though, before watching your video, of reading the news and the one article that struck me was about Biden/Harris campaign bus heading from San Antonio to Austin that was surrounded by vehicles with Trump signs and managed to slow it down. It rattled the campaign, which cancelled the trip (the candidates were not on board). It was a mistake to do so, because it only emboldens them. One of the ironies is that Texas is has "stand your ground law" and one has right to carry a firearm. (I was at a friends wedding last night and one of the guests has a pistol tucked in the back of his pants). If roles were reversed, we know what the occupants of a Trump/Pence bus would've done. I don't remember seeing such devotion to a political leader, cult of personality doesn't even begin to explain it. There is something deeper going on here and it's not good. Watching you and your beautiful library was just what I needed to see and take me away from the reality we're in.

When I was kid, Heavy Metal-type stuff was deeply uninteresting to me. I found the whole "titties and monsters" aesthetic of the covers immature and simplistic, ironically enough. However, looking at european sci-fi here, it is startling just how much ass and titties there really is! I mean, even in supposedly "classy" comics like Obscure Cities: in the story with the young cartographer, his map is literally drawn on her ass. Not to be too puritan or anything, but it is really quite funny when you put it all together like this.
