I am obviously a huge fan of Freddie Mercury and Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody" coming in as one of the most iconic songs of his career. To have an artist cover such a masterpiece is thrilling and dangerous at the same time. How do you do Freddie Mercury justice? Here comes Brendon Urie, whom I have heard briefly on the radio from a few songs, to perform this live in front of a crowd. Not only am I intrigued, I am terrified for him as well. Let's get to it!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Panic! At The Disco for the first time live, performing "Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Just for information, this particular performance is actually from the Death of a Bachelor tour. The album released in January 2016. The U.S. dates of the DOAB tour were February 24 to April 15, 2017. You have everything else correct but the album after this tour and after he was on Broadway was Pray for the Wicked.

Brendon's voice has always been so amazingly clear. He has to have great enunciation since most of the vocabulary in his lyrics is so complex. He writes paragraphs of lyrics that are spoken so clearly, it's probably my favorite part about this band.

He does a fantastic version of the Frozen song "Into the Unknown" which, much like this, really showcases his range, control, and power. "Emperor's New Clothes" again really shows his talent and it's a really cool video as well. One last thing. He also does death metal. Yes, he absolutely does. If you search his name plus metal, it's pretty amazing. He's quite the character.

I had the privilege of seeing Brendon Urie in 2016, his vocals are beyond phenomenal and shaped my earlier years of singing. I'm a Bass singer, but I learned a lot mimicking his voice before my voice dropped that I still use when I sing today! His use of vibrato and lung capacity really inspired me when I was younger. Five years of singing, thanks to this guy! Thank you for reviewing this song, it was equally as wonderful when he performed it when I saw him!

I cannot express how excited I was to see you reacting to this when it popped up on my feed! And the fact that you’ve never reviewed Brendon’s vocals?? A tragedy truly. He’s one of my favorite artists both because of his INCREDIBLE vocal talent and because of how creative Panic! is with their lyrics and musical choices. Death of a Batchelor is one of their classics, but some of my favorites are actually Say Amen, Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time, and Roaring 20s.

Wowwowow vocalgasm achieved. Didn't think there would ever be a version of this song that would hold a candle to the OG. Your reactions to it too 😍 I think since finding your channel I'm working out that I'm very aurally dependent in a conversation and the way people use their tone consciously or unconsciously to convey their inner emotions. Seeing it done deliberately by different vocalists with your commentary has me understanding a little more about myself and the way I listen to people and the world around me. How in tune I am to others when I really listen and pick up on what they're not saying with their words but their voice. Absolute insanity 10/10.

If you want to look more into Panic! at the Disco, at least listen to three things specifically: Death of a Bachelor, Emperor's New Clothes, and his version of Frozen 2's Into The Unknown. Amazing showcases of his vocal range, especially Bachelor. Other random suggestions: Starset: Disappear, Something Wicked, Kashmir (cover), My Demons Celtic Thunder: Desperado, Brothers in Arms, Steal Away, My Land, Christmas 1915 Home Free: Brothers in Arms, What We Ain't Got Charlie Green: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas (very low views) Celtic Woman: Walking in the Air (specifically from Chloe Agnew) Molly Kate Kestner: Prom Queen, Good Die Young Rascal Flatts: I'll Be Home For Christmas

"Into the Unknown" from the Frozen 2 soundtrack is a great track, it showcases both his range and power, and as you noted here, you can really hear the smile in his voice. I believe Brendon has an incredible chest voice. And although he has an amazing falsetto. You just don't hear many people talking about his baritone voice

Ooh I wasn't expecting this one. Brendon Urie has such a great voice. I personally love their performances at BBC Live Lounge with Starboy and IDGAF being two of my favorites. If you want to see another insane performance you should check out Adam Levine's cover of Purple Rain.

Omggggg, i've been waiting for this moment for sooo long. I really admire Brendon and for me he is one of the best voices out there. I'm looking forward for you to react to more of his songs. Some recomendations: death of a bachelor, imposible year, the end of all things (the blue live video is sooooooo good)

I'm SO impressed by his ability, and absolutely loved how much he enjoyed singing this song. Watching makes me happy. I still prefer Queen's version of the song, by some margin, but i understand this as a celebration of Queen and Freddie and this fantastic work of art, and as such i have a lot of love for it, and will watch and enjoy many times in the future.

Hi, Elizabeth. You surely get more suggestions than you can ever cover, but how familiar are you with Meatloaf? Most people have heard Bat out of Hell, but if by some miracle you haven't. WOW. Paradise by the Dashboard Light is also fabulous. I'd love your reaction to Boston's Don't Look Back also. Really enjoying your in-depth analyses and hey, I'm a Dio fan too!

Paradise by the dashboard lights is awesome. I was also thinking if she ever heard any Tom Jones, I'm sure she has though the guy has one of the best most powerful voices in the world. "I'll never fall in love again" or "Delilah" would be the best Tom Jones.

You seem even more excited than I was the first time I heard this version (and geez I was excited). I'd love to see you analyse the song Ragnarok by Periphery which has screaming and clear mind blowing parts or Strawberry's Wake by Dance Gavin Dance, which also has scream and clear (but from two different singers). I think you would also love the videoclip of this one !

Deer Elizabeth, If you can look at another cover, choose Marc Martel kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h9Fzq6hjsc6YZWw.html There's many things to say about him, but I will keep it short. He had competed and has been chosen for the Queen Extravagenza tour. Curiously for many, he was not chosen for touring with the band Queen, which prefer Adam Lambert. The reason for this choice is unknown (at least to me), some says he sing too much like Freddy and they may prefer something different. Also, for the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, he is the only voice with the one of Freddy that was choosen. His implication is unclear and he is kept to silence by contract. All his life Marc was compare to Freddy before he did a first cover around 10 years ago. It was the beginning of his journey in the Queen music. He said he do nothing very special to sing like Freddy. He think it could be the shape of his skull and jaw that produce this. Some also think he is a kind of natural imitator who can easily sing as someone effortless (he has no classical training). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrh1fs5y0JyWaH0.html That been said, I don't think you may find a better cover. He is alone with a piano in a room that could be at home. If you react to it, you will understand why his take is now close to 50 millions views, and his very first cover with 22 millions views.

The "nothing really matters" at the end where he hovers totally reminds me of "Oh, Is There Not One Maiden Breast" from Pirates of Penzance. I grew up on the operetta and I loved it.

I genuinely enjoy your videos because first of all, you are amazing. The spark in your eyes, the knowledge behind your words, your excitement, I love it. At the same time I can't help laughing just a little bit, not at you, no, but the fact that vocal coaches and professional singers like yourself keep analyzing my favorite singers who either never studied music or were taught to use these singing techniques. They are simply talented, not doing this on purpose but naturally. It's amusing to me. Carry on, I love you!

Panic! at the Disco is a band that I've really come to enjoy over the last several years. Brendon Urie is such a... fascinating vocalist. The overwhelming energy I get from him is an almost... "hangover of the California dream" vibe. Like, the point where all of the glitz and glamour has spun out and started to fade, and you're starting to see kind of the dark underside of it. It's odd, and may not seem appealing, but it is something that I actually really enjoy. One of his fascinating sets of songs is a trilogy of sorts are the songs Say Amen (Saturday Night), This is Gospel, and The Emperor's New Clothes, which were written in 2018, 2013, and 2016 respectively. Their music videos actually tell a coherent story across the three of them, and it's just fascinating to see the attention to detail that literally spans about five years. Honestly, The Emperor's New Clothes is one of my favorite songs of his. And yes, at this point, it is "his." He may not be the only original member of the band, but as other members of the original Panic! have moved on from the group, he's fundamentally become the only true permanent member of the group. Yes, he has musicians that perform with him, but these days, Panic! is The Brendon Urie show. You won't go wrong by exploring through any number of his other songs/videos. Just be prepared that some of them contain... intense imagery. I'm looking at you, LA Devotee. Heck, even Say Amen, as spectacular as it is.
