Have you seen a dr ? In my dr notes its listed I have panic disorder. I actually had optic neuritis which caused me to temporarily go blind in my left eye. It took about a year to get my vision back to the best it xan be . Colors are dull in that eye but I see 20/20 . However after that I was so worried I started having panic attacks...which at the time I had no idea what was going on . I had them about once

I have been in the worst panic attack for a year. It all begin from a lot of stress of university study and i had a this lecturer who is always angry and he said to me that 'what are you doing here' and at that moment i thought he is telling me that i dont deserve to be there, so that was very hard for me to take in because i work so hard to get there and that day i had my first panic attack and it change my life forever. I remember the first day, time, place and situation when it happened. I couldn't bare the pain on my chest, a lot of worst feeling happened, sometimes i got lost inside my own mind for a 2 or 3 days and i was almost killed my self many times, but being a christian hold me not to do it. But one thing i understand about it is, i feel better when i have someone arround me. I met my boyfreind a couple of months ago and i am doing very good. Now i don't panic frequently, and he is with me when i do.

I have panic disorder, and I'd like to give some encouragement to others that have had panic attacks. It gets better! With therapy, relaxation techniques such as yoga, and paying more detailed attention to your mental health it will become much more livable. My first panic attack I actually had my wife call 911 and had EMS take me to the hospital because I swore I was having a heart attack. Since then I have had multiple panic attacks but they decreased in intensity as I became more accustomed to fighting them through what I mentioned above. It's a hard realization to come to that you may never lead a completely "normal" life again, however with some honest work on your part you can still function and find enjoyment in living!

Have you considered trying desensitization. I am working on that now. I have panic attacks when I go to the doctors so my BP goes sky high, one of my treatments is going to the doctors more. The logic behind this is same as seeing a horror movie that scares you a lot, but the more I see one the less scary it becomes? I really want to get through this with out meds. I read your issue and I believe you can get completely better.

Comments like these make me so unbelievably angry. What a hopeless goal. It gets “better”. I am “managing”. You aren’t better if this is how you define your success. If you were to go back in time to before you had issues and show yourself what your life looks like today, what would they think? Would it be normal? No. Would it be what they imagined? No. You are “managing” a BS illness and are not better. It seems like everyones success and words of encouragement is just them having fooled themselves into thinking that this is an acceptable way of living. To be truly healed would mean to not leave such a comment.

I was rushed to the ER bc my palms are sweaty and shaking, i feel like i can't breath, i'm having chills and my heart is freaking out in my chest. My xray are fine, blood tests are fine. And amonth before that I was checked by cardiologist and a neurologist for left side weakness all was fine. Although That was so bad, I still am thankful I don't have anything serious. i still have it up until not but not as often as it was the days after i got out of the ER. We're fine. My anxiety disorder happened when I flipped a truck I was so scared to die. I was prescribed Xanax worked well for me up until I became pregnant then I had to cut it out. I had panic attack after panic attack for the first 2 weeks made myself sick. The rest of the pregnancy was fine up until 37 weeks my fear of dying came into play. Then after I gave birth I felt fine for the first week then became septic from endometritis. I was scared so bad I was sent to the er I was cured then sent home with antibiotic I felt normal I felt fine then after I was completed with my antibiotic days later I had this weird feeling I fell to the ground started screaming because my insides got hot and I felt cold I told my friend take me to the hospital took me to the hospital got antibiotic sent home with me I had a uti infection. Then while I was home I had to go back the same day because I felt off they did everything everything was fine :/ but then when I was sent home I was scared frightened I was sleeping woke up scared felt like I was dying I called the paramedics said I was fine told my mom to take me to the hospital and now I’m in the hospital getting treated for an infection still and I still feel like I’m going to die 😭😭😭 hate this and now I’m feeling like all these events were panic issues but I never had panic attacks like these 😭

Yeah it’s definitely not fun. My panic attacks started about two years ago. My word of advice is not to reward your body with fearing them. Easier said than done I know. But I think coming from a place of understanding them will give you peace. It’s just our survival instincts trying to help us. But they are a bit outdated for our current life. It’s like an over active fire alarm. For me, it was my body’s way of telling me there was things in my life I wasn’t happy with. I wasn’t living true to myself. There was things I’m so used to ignoring, that couldn’t be ignored anymore. For me what helped was me digging deep and facing my demons. I had a lot of help thro muscle testing of my subconscious. There is method I used called NET, it took a while but it has results that changed my life. I didn’t choose the path of medication even at my worst when I would have 4/5 a day. This doesn’t get easier you just get stronger. Love yourself, you are your best friend. Show yourself some forgiveness on where you are in life and press forward to a life of happiness. You got this! It is a process and it’s good you are expressing your emotions because that’s been the hardest thing for me to be honest. It will take time but you will get thro it! Your not alone

What makes them so awful for me is I start to feel like I can't get air. Like a friggin lung has collapsed or something. Logically, I Kno that isn't so... But all logic flys away when I'm in panic mode. Then my heart starts palpating which makes me panic even more. (I've experienced tachycardia since the age of 18 & am on meds for it, my whole adult life..but feeling my ❤️ skip around sends me into terror thinking I'll go into tachycardia, and have to get that good awful shit that stops the heart so it can reset. It's a awful terrorizing feeling. Omg. I've had it several times thought my 49 yrs) but the palpations make my panic worse and it just fucking spirals. I was on Klonopin for almost 20 yrs. Low dose, 1/2 mg once a day. I took myself off 2 yrs ago, went vegan, stopped smoking, started meditation & yoga... So WHY had this panic disorder come back out of nowhere!? I controlled my anxiety with plain natural passion flower the past 2 yrs. Now I went to a doc again, he tried visterol, it just put me to sleep. Terrible. He tries buspar, did nothing. I don't want to take a SSRI again. I worked so hard to come off. And I know alot of ppl abuse Klonopin but it's the only thing I can just take a 1/2 of and stops panic immediately. I am going to ask my doc for a small amount per month. I don't know what else to do. I wish I could stop this awful disorder. Every woman in my family has had it!? I'd give anything to just be a calm peaceful person who didn't worry. I don't know where all this fear comes from? I'm sending love out to all suffering from this horrible affliction. U are not alone.

I suffer from panic disorder aswell. I’ve been going thro it for about two years straight now. I’ve gotten it under control now, but it’s been a journey. I will get them time to time but not as bad as they used to be. I used to get them 3/4 or maybe more times a day. I chose not to go down the route of medication. I took more of a holistic and psychological approach. I worked with my chiropractor on this technique called NET. It’s what cured my psoriasis. It’s a really interesting process involving East and west styles of treatment. At its core it’s just subconscious muscle testing mixed with finding an lingering emotion tied to our childhood. Than the practitioner will click on certain pressure points, releasing that emotion. It’s all about finding a state of neutrality with what bothers you. There are a couple statements you can say, that really helped me. It usually is an ok statement that you can test. Here are some of the things I had a hard time dealing with that I made statements out of that really helped me. I’m ok with death, I’m ok with dying, I’m ok with not seeking panic, I’m ok releasing panic attacks, I’m ok with not having panic attacks, I’m ok with releasing fear, I’m ok not seeking fear. Those were some of the big ones with me but this process allowed me to really work on the things I wanted to make better. It really started helping when I allowed myself to be honest with where my pain was coming from, so I could understand it better.

Why isn’t there more concrete research on this? I feel like an idiot / crazy trying to explain my panic attack experiences: intense, overwhelming sense of dread, fear, impending doom, shallow breathing and trembling in my arms, face, hands. Sometimes the more intense attacks feel as though there is an entity behind me or nearby that wants to cause me harm. I’m a normal, functioning, sane person yet I have these attacks every few months. They last 1-4 minutes and occur a handful or several times throughout a 24-48 hours period then nothing for a few months.

Its really a struggle to deal with these types of panic attacks..I once had a panic attack in the car with mom while going back home during a hail storm while my siblings were laughing and playing i cried so much for no reason because i thought we were going to die (i was 15 at that time im 17 now it was kinda embarrassing) and i actually like rain and hail my mom had to calm me down the whole time and when we got home she gave me the biggest hug ever to help me relax

You are not crazy. I found it help to get enough sleep at least 8 hrs a day, if you can't sleep, take melatonin before bedtime. Exercise, running, biking, basketball...etc at least 3 times a week. Take Vitamin B-Complex after breakfast or lunch. And drink warm green tea during the day which has L-Theanin that helps reduce anxiety. It is a slow process, but it will help you in the long run. God Bless...

I had a relapse last year and for the last few months I have panic attacks every day and am also afraid to leave my appartment. When I go to the elevator my legs are shaking, I'm trembling and also fear that I'm going to faint and go crazy. I also feel derealization and depersonalization. It's tough and tiring to live in fear all the time, but I have new medication now and am working on myself, so I hope i'll overcome it again. Great video.

I started counseling and she diagnosed me with PTSD. Everything you've said I have suffered with since 3 weeks prior to my 25th birthday. I've been having them for 31 years. They never stay away. I hadn't had a really bad one for a few months and I woke up at 2 a.m. and felt fine. Within 5 minutes I felt one coming on. I've lived within for so many years and it depresses me more because I'm so exhausted and sad from having them.

Exposure therapy is the answer to PD. Force yourself to focus on one panic attack for 20-30mins(until its over) everyday. After each time, it will get less and less intense until finally it will be gone completely. Do this for 4-8 weeks which is how long it takes the brain to rewire the neurons. Look straight into the fear and it will shrink like the lie you know it is, I promise!
@watson.w1258
@watson.w1258 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I suffered with PD for 2 years, as soon as I felt a panic attack coming on I would do everything in my power to try and stop it which only made it worse, I realised by accepting it and stop fighting it, slowly it got better. I don’t think I’ll ever be fully ‘cured’ but at least I know how to handle it better. Sometimes when the symptoms start I try to imagine I’m glued to the floor and sit still, forcing myself to endure it, and through this I realise I can handle it which in turn makes it less intense and more bearable.
@jeremy472
@jeremy472 3 жыл бұрын
@@watson.w1258 Yes! So glad you were able to find relief. Being 'Cured' may not be the right term for everyone. Some can experience full relief, others still have ligering triggers. Though I would always air on the side of optimism and suggest its possible that you simply need more exposure sessions.

A year ago I had been experiencing panic attacks that always resulted in fainting, mostly in public places, even on a date once. It was humiliating and actually pretty dangerous. So i saw a doctor who gave me some medication, but the effects soon wore off. Searching one day I found a website that had a pretty good review recommending a product to treat my anxiety. I read the review and ended up trying out the method. The technique worked instantly! Because i'm not scared and know i can handle any attack, the attacks went away. If you want to learn more about what I used (Panic Away) here is where I saw the review TreatPanicAndAnxiety.blogspot.com . It tells you about everything that comes with the system and exactly what it will do for you. Check it out, hopefully it will help you like it helped me!

I was diagnosed with this disorder by my psychiatrist after taking the MMPI. I was in my 50's, and the onset began after the freak, traumatic death of my 17 year old son 10 yeas prior. I am on Sertaline, and take 0.5 mg of Clonazepam when the attacks occur. She also taught me to deep breathe ( it takes practice!) and also there are many guided meditations available on KZfaq that I find very beneficial as needed when going to sleep. There are also very short guided meditations for when I have to go somewhere I don't want to, or feel one coming on as long as I can catch it before it flips into an actual panic attack. Thank you.

If you hadn't started watching this video, you wouldn't have felt that. You're just giving it importance because something at some point in your life led you to doubt your own strength, your own sanity, and now watching this reinforces the belief that there may be something wrong with you. In other words, you're the one who's giving this information credit. You can choose not to do so, because, hell, you're fine! There's nothing wrong with you, unless you convince yourself otherwise. The problem with my panic is I usually am the opposite of that. Very relaxed and lazy. Unlike some, I never get panic out of the blue. It's due to a real event that has happened. And it can last until the event has no more chance of ending badly for me. Could take a month. Meds do not work at all particularly benzos. Not a big fan of talking about myself but I’d like to share my experience in the hopes that it may help somebody else or not feel alone. I had some traumatic things happen when I was a little child and the seperation with my parents and their hatred for each other, I was used as the pawn in the mix. Since I was about 4 I would always be really anxious and panicked especially going to my fathers. I’d forever fear that something would happen to my mum while I was away and I’d have to call her 4-5 times a day. This went on for years. I had to see a psychologist at 6 years old and I remember doing breathing techniques reccomended at the time. I remember having a huge panic attack at about 8 years old and running into my grandmothers bed worried that my body would stop breathing if I went to sleep. The early teenage years weren’t too bad, sort of grew out of them but then at work when I was 18 the big one hit me out of nowhere. Ambulance to the ER. My hands cramped like they’d never been before. All the other symptoms of a panic attack. Thought it was my heart and from that day I was never the same and haven’t been at now 30 years old. Constantly fearing that next panic attack or something happening to me. I’ve trialled different medications but the side effects rattle me and it’s hard enough being terrified of the anxiety but then to feel suicidal or add to your anxiety I could never properly stay on any medications. I resulted basically to alcohol use and gradually over the years it turned into a substance abuse problem. I used it for years to self medicate because for a time there it was the only thing that would make me feel normal and be able to function without all the negative feelings. What goes up must come down and the alcohol always made my anxiety and panic 10 times worse. It got to a point in my mid 20’s where I said to myself F this I can’t deal with this anymore. If I’m going to die whatever I’m not paying attention to it so for a few years I was preety good but then the panic eventually stepped back into my life helping somebody else going through one and I stress that I’ll never be free. It’s funny after all the years as a child I’d worry about something happening to my mum but in turn as I got older, that anxiety changed to something happening to me. I’m fit and healthy and yet I’ll think about something happening to me a million times a day. I’m always stressed about an early death and way too aware of my body signals. I swear my body actually makes pains and things up just because panic is so engrained in my biological make up. I haven’t found any answers so I’m sorry I can’t be of any help to anyone else. But I’ve worked out that when the panic attack creeps in I just run, literally wherever I am I just start running until I can return to a semi normal state. I’ve also noticed whenever my stomach is off, my anxiety is bad so gut health is extremely important. As a grown man I’ve cried many times in the shower apologising to the baby me because I didn’t deserve to be handed such poor coping mechanisms and such stress. Feel free to vent if you need to. I understand the pain of it all all too well. Take care everybody 😢❤

I just can’t keep living like this, I throw my whole life away fighting these goddamn panic attacks and fear. I missed all the things my twin brother could do but I don’t, no vacation for me, no trip outside of our hometown, no party’s, no love/relationships. The fear literally took over, and only now (I’m 22) I realise this is how life is supposed to be, but then again, talking doesn’t really help for me, nobody really knows what you’re going through, nobody really understands. The more I talk about it the more I get to see one specific solution to this all. I just wished that I could be happy..

Hey, I’ve been having them for nearly a year now. There’s not too much you can do to fix them unfortunately. However, make sure your carers know and it might help to mark down when you have them so you can maybe find a trigger however there might not always be one. They are not a bad thing and as scary as it is when you’re having one you just have to remember nothing bad is going to happen. Keep going to counselling and whilst you’re having excuse yourself from the room if you can and either focus on your breathing or try to shift your focus to naturally calm yourself down. I sometimes find it useful to say the first three letters in the alphabet then take two deep breaths then say the next three letters of the alphabet and repeat. This helps with breathing and it’s really hard to remember the alphabet slowly so it shifts your mind thinking. It might not work and it could take a while to find something that does help but it will get better and try not to let panic attacks be the focus of your life and don’t let them derail your education as much as possible. (You might also want to get something just to fiddle with, and make sure you drink water when having them). Wish you all my best and I hope you get better with them soon ❤️

I'm always worried now about when I'm going to have my next panic attack. I keep watching my feelings waiting for the next attack to happen. It's really what occupies my mind most of the time now.I would like to pay more attention to something constructive but I cant.

How do you guys move past your panic attacks? I know it's a little intense but the experiences I've had with my panic attacks due to emetephobia have been so intense that I have often contemplated taking my own life. All because I knew that I should struggle with these situations for most of my life. Any tips? They would be greatly appreciated

If you see this please respond. I’ve been suffering with panic disorder since 2017... Today I’ve still felt the same but it only has gotten worse with panic. I feel like I’m legit dying. I get fainting spells sometimes. I feel sick everyday. Chest pain. Dizzy. Nausea is one of the newer symptoms I’m having. Chocking. Waking up not being able to breathe. Etc.

Hello. You’re not alone. What helps me I every day that I don’t die I think to my self “well. I didn’t get that heart attack I feared. Or stroke or whatever I’m fearing. So if I didn’t die yesterday, ot day before, or day before that, then I probably not going to die from it today. Or tomorrow or the next” separating fear from reality really helps! I hope you’re doing better!

I started experiencing panic and anxiety attacks last year and I still suffer from them till this day. I'm not the same person I was before, so much has changed about me, I am suddenly so scared of everything, I don't want to do anything anymore, nothing interest ls me, I feel unmotivated and so on. I struggle a lot at night, sometimes I even get scared to fall asleep coz I feel like I'm gonna end up dying in my sleep so I always avoid going to sleep at night... But I do fall asleep eventually, sometimes in the morning around 5am.Right now it feels like my throat is closing in and it's a very scary feeling, it happens almost every night. I don't know what to do anymore. I have probably visited the different doctors about 11 times now. I don't even tell my family anymore when I experience an attack. The constant pain on the left side of my chest make it seem like I'm gonna end up having a heart attack or a stroke because of the tension headaches I also get and that all just makes everything worse. With experiencing panic attacks, i never know what to expect because it's always different, I often get scared that I'm gonna have a panic attack which makes me have a panic attack. I always feel like there's something medically wrong with me that the doctors are missing. I don't know what to do anymore.

Mine started a month ago. I don’t know why this happened to me. I stopped drinking coffee cuz of it but my body is still healing. I feel burning sensations on my chest. Try to walk on grass with bare feet, and then try embrace the grass as if it’s your zen . You need to be in nature because to much electronics cause radiation

I''m not even sure I had it. But I know the fear is there, because it seemed... too much. The symptomes are all right, but for everything bad in my life my brain wants to believe there's nothing wrong. Therefore I don't deserve to feel like this, and it makes everything worse. I'm sorry I'm writing that here, just really tired of keeping silent.

Has coffee consumption triggered your panic attacks? For me I think that was egging the panic attack on. I love coffee but I stopped drinking it and I haven’t had an attack in in more than 6 months.

No it reaches it's peak in seconds I don't fear the symptoms my fear comes from the things I'm fearing then those symptoms come upon me. Y'all don't know nothing. A panic attack is a panic disorder. It doesn't just go away and not come back. It will return when you have major fears of something and that is the disorder.

Zachary Dunning, There is a solution to every problem if there is a desire and determination. . For a relaxed life without anxiety and depression sit on a chair, back and spine as erect as possible, hands on your lap with palms upwards, close your eyes and do nothing. Be still without moving and observe your incoming--outgoing breath and body sensations for around 10-15 minutes. What is important is to be as still as possible. Plenty of thoughts will come but slowly negative thoughts will reduce or vanish slowly. The mind is reprogrammed to reach a stage of equanimity only if you do twice daily or as per your convenience. This could be life-transforming if you desire change. Take charge of your life. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

I have a panic to short hair with a gordofombia and I can have two to three panic attacks a day The anxiety attacks are different and I don't even know how many I have a day. I break out into one when I lay down and I wake up in one I have been on medicine and it was wonderful compared to how life was but some report came out and I've been going to the same place for 8 years and they've moved to a few different psychiatrist. I also have ADHD. The psychiatrist whom I found out was just in nursing assistant oh boy was I upset, said that I had to choose between treating ADHD and my panic disorder..... This is 11 months after she had been treating me. I researched and research and I couldn't find a real reason why she would do that and when I spoke to her last she hung up the phone and I received a letter that I was let go for missing appointments Well guess what trying to make an appointment is 15 to 20 minutes of a panic attack in which my muscles are my biggest issue and I can't get up and walk or move and now to try to find somewhere else Also I have GAD SAD AND CPTD WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED THIS LAST YEAR I WENT TO ANOTHER PSYCHIATRIST IN THE SAME PLACE BECAUSE TOTAL IT'S BEEN HIT IN HALF YEARS BUT THE COMPANY HAD BEEN BOUGHT OUT It's in my records that I am not able to take antidepressants. Both of the psychiatrist into the phone and I'm nice and say hi and Frank and smile and no. Both of them the first thing out of their mouth was I will not prescribe Klonopin.... Well I had even asked a question yet.... I was cut from 3 mg down ,25 for a week I believe after covid a lot of these doctors are scared to lose their jobs for whatever reason I don't know and some of these aren't even doctors psychiatrist. When I brought up me was trying and this has to be a taper that did not show any care about it. Instead they put me on an antidepressant well they wanted me to take it. When the seizure happened it caused wrist drop and I lost my job because I cleaned at night . Once again that's psychiatry place did not care.... It breaks my heart.... As I mentioned with everything it's even hard to get out my door and may take two to three hours.... Can't imagine going to a new doctor right now and what kind of diagnosis they would give me... I'm scared and as of today my mother does not believe in mental health has taken steps that is leading me to sell my trailer and move away from my first safe home place. Imagine a narcissist and someone who hasn't panic disorder and extreme anxiety and the narcissist loves to read the voice and 2 weeks ago asked me if I was tired of being me wowzers I really want to talk to a lawyer unfortunately I can think of it but anything past that shuts me right down. When I realized how much power they have over my life and I'm one person that doesn't have a lot of money I just have to stop I did not have problems on Klonopin. My memory loss came from a mood stabilizer called Lamictal... They want to believe something they read in a book that had no real long-term studies and did not believe me. If anybody knows somewhere that they actually care and want to listen and not just stare at the person please advise
