We just can't seem to get enough of these groups in our lives! Ever since we uploaded our first acapella video, you guys have been BLOWING UP the comments with awesome video suggestions! So thank you so much to everyone who's here for the voices! For episode 169, we're taking a look at VoicePlay, and their Panic! At The Disco medley. If you're a fan of the band, you'll definitely love what these fellas did with it! Geoff: Long hair, voice down in hell Eli (pronounced like Ellie): bald guy Earl: stocky dude, voice doesn't match him at all, left the group a year ago, they're still working out a replacement for him J-None: black dude, left the group for the military, will come back once service is done. Cesar De La Rosa is his replacement Layne: weird noise guy

The first soloist is Earl, the longtime high tenor that is no longer with the group, whose departure resulted in all the guest artists in the most recent videos. The one who went into the Navy is the black guy, J. None, who is a tenor/baritone. His departure was fairly recent but they've already hired a replacement for him - Cesar de la Rosa. High tenor spot is still open. I think they might be trying to figure out if they need a male or female for that. Earl's high notes were insane.

Great reaction! There is a prequel to this that shows how they got captured - “Trapped” (Billie Eilish medley) that was filmed after the Panic at the Disco videos were made. Also a very good video! The continuity of their costumes was impressive. 😉

Oh my, now that you've done Panic!, you definitely need to check out its prequel- Trapped: Billie Eilish in 3 Minutes. Those two pieces make up a (confirmed by VoicePlay) storyline- you've seen the ending, but now you ought to see how they end up there! Also, it's a simply phenomenal arrangement, more of a mashup than a medley. Really, really good stuff.

If you like Geoff Castellucci's low notes listen to his cover of Tennessee Ernie Ford's 16 Tons. You'll get an idea of his range (he can go higher). It's all Geoff not VP. But amazing nonetheless the less. I love it.

Thanks for covering it - I'm totally addicted to VoicePlay. They don't really HAVE a lead singer - different people sing lead in different songs. Geoff (bass) or Layne (beatbox and baritone) do 99% of their arrangements, and they pass things around depending on the needs of the song. Recently it seems like Layne's arrangements have been pushing more time to Geoff: that could be a function of the changing singers in the group over the last year, but more likely it's a response to Geoff's fans, which are increasingly fanatic as his private channel becomes more and more popular. Or maybe I'm crazy, and it's not really happening at all.... Hard to look at a group like this and dig out trends from 5 or 6 songs.

I introduced the Sales manager @Nissan to VP while buying my new car today. I left him with a long "homework" list of VP, Home Free, PTX, and Voctave vids to watch. He pulled Carry on Wayward Son to watch between the tag transfer and financing paperwork.😆😁

I literally subscribed after this one. I'm a fan of Voiceplay and I love the fact that you seem to have a musical background. You are insightful not only on vocals, but also on arrangement or other musical stuff, and I love that. If you want to continue in the medley genre, I highly recommend their "Queen in 5min" or "Boys Band in 5min", they are fun to watch and have a smooth transition too. I would add that one of the cool things about Voiceplay, besides the fact that they love what they do and it shows, making their video fun to watch, is that the more you go to their recent production, and the better they are. In short, keep it up and hello from France ^^.

So happy to see you getting into Voiceplay, they are an amazingly talented a capella group. You can pick any of theirs songs and not go wrong. I would definitely recommend their "Queen in 5 Min" "Boybands in 5 Min" and their "Little Mermaid Medley ft Rachel Potter " if you dont mind Disney

I love them so much, they have another medley of Billie Eilish which is a prequel of the story in this one, I highly recommend it. If you wanna see more of Geoff's incredible range react to the Oogie Boogie Song, Daddy Sang Bass, Warriors, The Little Mermaid Medley, Bang!, My Mother Told Me and If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, also you should check out his solo work, which I recommend his latest cover to Misty Mountains. Earl (high tenor/big guy with beard) is one of the original members who left VoicePlay last year, if you wanna see more of his range I'd say Queen in 5 minutes, Daddy Sang Bass, Boy Bands in 5 minutes and the Moana Medley.

From what I read by other fans, Geoff, Layne and Earl grew up together and worked at various amusement parks as entertainers. They had a lot of practice developing their theatrical skills.

I think an important point is, that in most of their medleys they don´t just piece some songs together. They pick out the parts of the songs they need to tell a whole new story.

There is a prequel to this which is a Billie Eilish cover: Trapped. It makes sense of the key around Geoff's neck. And why they're in this situation. Another dramatic medley of songs is Queen in 5 Minutes. Yes Geoff is Mr Shock and Awe. Voiceplay always have multi talented singers, they took a whole year to replace Tony Wakim with J.None, but when he left they already knew Ceaar de la Rosa and he is now a full member of the group having met their rather strict requirements.

Got to know your channel thanks to your Voiceplay reactions and subscribed cause you guys are awsome! Also, for insane highs and lows react to their "Queen in 5 minutes". As a die hard Queen fan I had a hard time bringing myself to listen to that but once I did it became one of my favorites

That super-high note? The one they were amazed by? That was 100% Earl. J.None has a very different timbre on his upper register. Don't mistake me, he's got an amazing upper extension (Thinkin' 'Bout You shows this off beautifully). But that laser-like sound? That was Earl.

@@susanbradley5685 You know, I have probably watched that video an unhealthy number of times, LOL. But, just to be sure, I went and rewatched it (let's be real - any excuse to rewatch VoicePlay is a good excuse). And having just watched it with my good headphones, I will say that it really sounds to me like Earl's falsetto. But honestly, the only way to know for sure would be to get it from the horse's mouth, as it were, and I did not see any comments from them regarding this note below the video, nor have I heard anything in any of the interviews I've watched of them. So ((shrug)). Either way, this was a killer medley, and I'm so glad they decided to react to it.

Jeff Castellucci is the Bass. Eli Jacobson is the bald guy; a tenor with a deep baritone range. Layne Stein is the Beatboxer. J None is the baritone; he left the group for the military. Earl is the high tenor; he has left the group last year and was replaced by Cesar de la Rosa a few weeks ago.

Ok... beatbox (white shirt, black tie, leather jacket) is Layne. Bald guy is Eli (pronounced EL-Lee) is their baritone, who generally sings tenor, but has been known to hold the bass if Geoff is on lead. Dude with the beard, white shirt black vest. Singing tenor/falsetto, is Earl. He left the group a couple of years ago. The other baritone, also in a white shirt and black vest, black gentleman, is J None, sadly left the group recently joined the military. Last one. Geoff. Their bass. Nuff said. Recently Cesar joined the group as a full time member. And they often rotate in other feature artists. Their newest video (if I was a rich man/girl) will boggle your mind. If you want to see some mind bending vocals, check out their Little Mermaid Medley and their benefit song Sing.

You guys are doing alot of reactions from lots of groups so it's hard to keep them all straight. For another mash up you should listen to Home Free Butts Remix (4 or 5 songs together) and Country Fried pop Medley (15 artists and 17 songs Absolutely love you guys. Great reaction. Alot of us listen to all 3 groups :)

I know they made it for the visual effects but that bomb is insanely easy to render safe by ignoring the timer entirely and looking for the blasting cap wires. No blasting caps no boom.
