Love ❤️ hydrangeas, we have about 2 acres and it’s filled with all kinds of hydrangeas. I have a lace cap structured like an Annabelle that blooms early and the white flat flowers turn green and stay the season, great cut and dried.

I've alternated LL with Vanilla Strawberry Hydrangea along our driveway, 4 in total. The VS is my absolute favourite! The stems are stronger and those stems are bright red. Looks absolutely fantastic in a clear vase. It starts to colour up ahead of the LL and you get a wonderful blend of white and pink with a hint of moss green. It's not a PW product. I don't know where it originated but I've started propagating to have more on our property.

I have a limelight tree that is amazing and I just planted an oak leaf and white wedding hydrangeas. I really want to find firelight & pinky winky but they are harder to find in my area. Of course, your cooler weather really makes hydrangeas shine! Here in N Carolina we don’t always get the color you do. Gracie looks so beautiful in the garden! She’s such a pretty dog!

That limelight is huge! I planted two little limes this year and as well as two blue/purple hydrangeas. I’m so excited to see how they do next year. We have acidIc soil, so I’m betting they will be blue. You are such a wealth of knowledge. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m planning to start selling some cut flowers with my kids next year, and I have definitely learned a lot from your videos.

This year I planted 6 Flare Hydrangeas, an award winning hydrangea from Bloom Easy. You don’t see or hear a lot about them but they are a petite shrub, growing only 2-3 feet in height/wide, very hardy panicle. I love lots of color in my garden so come fall, I hope they don’t disappoint. I also have Fire Light and Quick Fire in my back yard, I love them both.

Great video quality, Danielle! Love your list of hydrangeas as well :). I am in Zone 8b (TX) and mainly focus on growing plants that are native to this area, but I have actually thought about growing a hydrangea in our garden. Do you have a recommendation for a variety that grows well in any soil condition and is drought/heat tolerant? Any advice is welcome :). Have a blessed weekend!

Good morning Northlawn Floral Farm. That's one beautiful garden. My favorite method of maintaining a sustainable pantry and stockpiling items long term for the whole family is what I consider to be the most practical, utilizing every type of food storage methods and technology available, both old and new. . Except for the fruits and vegetables that get canned, I keep perishable items like meat, poultry, fish, fruit, vegetables and dairy products in the refrigerator on a short term basis until I'm ready to use them for a big family meal - and for even longer term sustainable storage, a large separate freezer, which can store a half side of beef with plenty of room left over for homemade ice cream etc. . I'm considering upgrading to a walk-in freezer at some point.in the near future, if my plans to open a bed and breakfast come to fruition. Sometimes, however a nice round of cheese can do well for quite awhile on a pantry shelf at room temperature - and doesn't mind even if it has to stand there alone. Store bought canned goods get shelves.in the large pantry closet - several for canned meat like corned beef hash, spam and sandwich spread and another for canned vegetables Bread, rolls, grains, homemade pasta, cereals and the like are stored in special humidity controlled bins I order from Amazon Prime - which usually get delivered to my doorstep about an hour after I order them. . Stuff from the family garden and orchard, like onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, cauliflower, cucumber, pumpkins, carrots, corn celery,, potatoes and yams, cherries, blueberries and strawberries get canned in Mason Jars and stored in the cool, root cellar of this wonderful rambling former farmhouse (circa 1867) I share with my extended blended family and several rambunctious dogs raised on table scraps from the some of the finest food from a plethora of sources both commercial and home based. . There's even a special separate "summer kitchen" which I converted to store butter and ice cream churns, pots, pans, utensils, extra storage containers, foil, bags, cutlery, and other meal related accoutrement. Out back in the woods, just beyond the big pile of wood I maintain all year, (for use in an antique woodstove I keep on hand, in case the power goes out) there's even an old rusting vintage still where my great grandfather made some of the finest corn whiskey for miles. Next to it is the rusting hulk of the Ford Model A he used to transport that powerful hootch by the light of the moon on soft summer nights to his eager customers in a tri-county area. Further into this verdant forest of mostly sycamore, oak, pine and scrub, runs a cool stream into which I occasionally cast a rod or net to catch some Brook Trout, Bluntnose Shiners, or whatever takes the bait (just earthworms for the most part). And yes, hunting season means wild turkey, deer, and even an occasional wild boar. Next week, I'm planning on filing for a permit to 3-D print a smokehouse in order to be able to create gourmet artisan handcrafted, beef, bacon, turkey, and beef stick jerky, which interested local merchants can private label for other people to share with their families and their family dogs. Unfortunately, I had to break the bad news to my free range hens today that due to expected egg shortages regretfully numbered are their days of laying a couple of eggs and then basically taking the rest of the day off with ranging privileges' within the parameters of a few very nice rural acres - parts of which are rich with fat grubworms. There's even a short dirt road between the main barn and the farmhouse which they're free to cross to get to the other side as often as they'd like. My rooster Ben overheard me and he ain't too happy either, knowing full well that due to oncoming egg shortages, he'll be "workin' overtime to make sure there's plenty of eggs for the family and I.

What a lovely video on panicle hydrangeas! Thank you! I grew Little Quick Fire and Strawberry Sundae in pots and Tardiva in the ground, all in sun, (zone 6b in WV between Hagerstown MD and Winchester VA) and none turned a pretty pink before getting brown. The August heat and drought this year was just awful although I watered constantly. What’s your secret?!!!

I live in zone 10a. The only hydrangea I can grow is macrophyla. They don’t change color really other than the color they are and then they turn brown, which is a real bummer. I hope someday they actually make some heat tolerant varieties other than macrophyla because in my zone we don’t have a variety at all. They sure are beautiful! I wish mine looked like that!

Here’s a few tips.. cut early in the morning when it’s cool, cut the stem at an angle, dip the stem in alum ( a pickling spice) or Quick Dip ( sold on Amazon), keep away from sunlight and in a cool spot. Newly opened hydrangeas are the hardest to keep hydrated. Later in the season as their colors “age”, they’re much less likely to wilt.

Hi, I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. I've never bought hydrangeas before because of my yard being in sun but the other day when I stopped by the nursery where I live in S. Carolina they told me that paniculata 'Phantom' could handle the sun. So I bought 2 but when I did research on them I find they need afternoon shade. The only place I can plant gets the Western sun and this past summer was brutal to say the least. Now I'm unsure if they can be planted where I thought was a good place. Will they survive & if not are there any hydrangeas that can take the triple digit heat we have in the summer?

Hi there, I planted 4 phantoms by my fenceline, which gets morning sun and afternoon shade. I definitely agree that all day sun would be too much for phantom! It's hot where I live, so it is necessary to give them daily soak of water. Compared to my other panicles, phantoms definitely benefit from a break from all day sun, so I agree with you.Good luck finding the right spot for them!
