SUPER important note for anyone setting this up: make sure to print in BLUE MODE for pro tools users so your stems actually line up with each other 😅 (ctrl+cmd click where it says “cmp” at the bottom of each print track - it’s in the delay compensation portion of the mixer window) amazing tip man, been doing something similar but never thought about grouping / linking the plugins thru separate auxes. brilliant !!

Could you explain a little about the point of the sidechain into the mono signal of the mix on the auxes? (Mix.L)

Thank you for your excellent videos and the time you take to help us. .Re: Printing . Lets say you have 1) Drum, 2) Bass and 3) Instruments. Which have individual FX buss sends le Reverb Delay etc. How do you handle FX busses??? Do you print Drum, Bass and Instruments - Dry individually , and three wet FX Buss or combine FX into one printable track. How when and why do you decide to combine or split FX busses wrt their corresponding dry track???

FX go into their parent bus; Drum reverb into the pDrums Bass reverb into the pBass Don't seperate;

Cool process! How do you deal with reverbs and delays? Especially ones that I shared in-between tracks? It’ll have a bit of bleed if sending to multiples auxes. Or you need a totally different workflow when no effects are shared in-between tracks.

Reverbs and delays get sent to their parent instrument stem; I don't share reverbs and delays in my mixing workflow;

I'd love to know if you have anyone buy that template. Most producers I know hate Pro Tools with a venom. I do agree it's very powerful, and you have to use it if you are working in the industry. 😀

Wouldn’t the limitation with this workflow be that you aren’t including your time-based parallel effects in the stem prints?

These route through to the busses too. Everything sums.

@@panorama_mastering you must have dedicate effects for each stem, so there’s no bleed between them (for example, if guitars and piano are sharing a reverb but on separate stems). Not a big deal but just needed to adjust that in my head. Thanks!

Even so, will it sum accurately to the original mix? I've mix for several ableton producers, and it's never as simple as that to export accurate production stems.

Well, i would have to do some testing, but i didnt noticed any obvious difference from the final mix versus the stems. Thats why i didn't quite understand why i should do the process you are showing in the video 🤔

I really want to know if he's a high tech laser printer guy, or on that old style warm tone dot matrix analog. Resolution is nice but ink saturation has a certain vibe.
