My favorite the album was slaughtered. I remember walking through the halls of my highschool with far beyond driven on repeat in my CD player, just every bit of a pissed at the world teenage boy storming through the halls with pantera on blast in his ears. I think I know why alot of people didn't like me now 🤔

Almost got the story right. Basically, some guy was causing problems at a show and heckling the band. A bunch of fans around him beat him up. Afterward, the guy claimed Pantera's singer not only instigated the fight but actually jumped off-stage and got involved. The guy's family sued Pantera, wanting a huge payout, and his father made the comment about wanting "five minutes alone" with Phil. The whole thing was thrown out of court and this song was Phil's response. As a funny side note, Pantera's manager responded to the father's threat by saying "no, you don't" [want five minutes alone with Phil]. Stay safe everyone. Cheers from Florida.

I haven't listened to Pantera in years. I sort of outgrew them in my 20s. I will admit, though, this is one of the songs that helped me out with timing shifts when I was still a novice bassist. Rex also does a pretty nice little groove under the solo that's a pretty good scale exercise for a novice.

@@nelsonjere17 the guitar he buried with dime was the bumblebee which was made for Eddie by Wayne Charvel after eruption had been released. He used the bumblebee throughout 1979 and on Van Halen II but Eddie ended up switching back to his Frankenstrat (the guitar used to record eruption) because he didn’t like the sound of the bumblebee

it was actually a response to a law suit that was filed where a concert goer was hurt during their show... and Phil wanted to get him alone. Thats why the line that varies through out the tune "you cry for compensation, i ask you please just give us, 5 minutes alone" is so tough.

Great vid guys, there was so many thrash bands around at the time of pantera ............slayer/megadeth/sepultura/anthrax/machine head etc etc etc and although they were all fantastic on the guitar there will never be anybody EVER like dimebag, his guitar playing still gives me goosebumps now, im very happy that i got to see them live. now that you guys have done a few metallica & pantera songs it would be cool if you looked at other thrash bands from the mid 90's or even before that. some fantastic music came from that era. Davidian from burn my eyes by machine head was a game changer back then, it blew everyone away and is still as crushing now. i feel that we will never get another era of thrash like the 90's, pantera have gone, slayer have gone, machine head although they are still going are no way near the force they used to be, metallica lost their way around 20 years ago, there are no bands coming through to replace the heavy hitters from the 90's. keep up the great work fella's
