big up to phil man. holy shit. the only reason he has this opportunity to sing his peace is because vinny passed. It's the most heart wrenching scenario in heavy metal history. rex isnt even showing up to shows now. maybe the voice of the band we all knew and loved is really all we have left. let the man carry us along with his words again. unscarred. stronger than all fucking GOD SIZE. Yall wanna hate on this revival but imagine with a different singer. at least we got phil, man. this shit makes me cry bro like i cant even handle it. we all need to just heal on this one.

@just saying man it's really not Phil's fault what happened to Dime. Horrible untimely tragedy ??? Absolutely!!!! But that fuck that murdered Darrell was unhinged brother. He was going to do something unnecessary whethet he had outside influences or not. He had already "attacked" Damage Plan once already, and they were so gracious enough not to press charges on the piece of shit. Was planning to get Phil also, but Down cancelled the gig at the venue in Ohio they were gonna play at.

This wasn't what Dime and Vinny wanted, but Phil is sure to honor them the best he can. The effort Phil is putting into his voice shows that this wasn't some money grab (or Phil and Rex are really good at hiding it). This may not be the real Pantera anymore, but the talent Phil and Rex have will never leave them. Not in a million years.

@@justsaying1462 I feel like Rex, Zakk, and Charlie are doing it to pay tribute to Dime and Vince, considering that Rex was the one in the band who didn't cause much trouble. Not that I'm saying Dime and Vince caused trouble, but he was the one who stayed out of it, Phil would constantly do stupid shit and then Dime would butt heads with him. Zakk and Dime were really close friends before Dime was killed, so it's like playing onstage for your best friend that died 18 years ago, I honestly believe nobody could do it better than Zakk, him and Dime were like two peas in a pod close. As for Charlie, Charlie's an amazing drummer, they definitely picked the right person to hold the drums together. Charlie was sa close friend to Vinnie, so at least they got close friends of those two members that unfortunately were taken from us too early. As for Phil, he probably just wants money. He didn't care about Dime when he died, didn't care about trashing his MEMORIAL SHOW. It makes me sick. If anything, they should've had someone else on Vocals, someone who was actually close with Pantera, and actually gave a shit about Dime and Vinnie. Reuniting 2/4 of a band that you destroyed and replacing the known members, the two members who were beloved most, and the two greatest musicians in the Groove Metal movement of the 90s (and just metal in general, you can hear Dime's influence on 90% of bands nowadays) isn't going to redeem the amount of times he said he wanted to kill Dime, the amount of times he's hurt Dime's family, the amount of trashing he's done on Dime's legacy, it's disgusting and it's a cheap attempt at making money and boosting himself in a social hierarchy to seem like he's "not that bad." Kick Phil out, replace him with someone that can do his vocals to a T, and you'll have an actual Pantera reunion/tribute band, considering, Phil was the reason the band went to shit.
@DrDrip067
@DrDrip067 Жыл бұрын
@@justsaying1462 Anselmo is a piece of shit. No disguising. But I will disagree with you there, I think it's nice that Rex is paying tribute to his former friends and bandmates by having friends play the songs live again, but having Phil back onstage is disgusting. Zakk and Charlie playing in memory of them are very amazing and wholesome, and carries their legacy, a metaphorical passing of the torch, if you will. If Phil wasn't in the reunion it would be great as a tribute, and a partial reunion. I personally feel like Rex was pressured into having Phil on. Considering their hatred for Phil for destroying the band. It's like, they're doing so good by having Dime and Vinnie's close friends play for them, but it's also muddled down by Phil's presence, a quick cashgrab so he can continue to guzzle alcohol like he's a marathon runner with a jug of water. It's a good thing that they're doing the partial reunion, but Phil ruins it entirely
@DrDrip067
@DrDrip067 Жыл бұрын
Replying to myself, they play old videos of Dime and Vinnie over Zakk playing, that's why it's so both good and bad. If Phil wasn't there it'd be absolutely beautiful, but seeing his shiny ass bald head ruins it

@@DrDrip067you just have a hate boner for Phil. The dime estate had to approve this. Phil cleaned up and has to deal with the skeletons in his closet and I’m sure he’s been redeemed in the eyes of the dime estate enough to approve of it. I saw him with Down a few months ago. A class act really and the vocals are sounding good sooooooo. Sorry! Bitch to the dime estate or his girlfriend or whoever is in charge of that.

@@lordofreason549 i get you. But.. does it really matter in the end? I mean, why always debating bout original members. So many rockbands aren't originally set. Just a few might be original. In the end we should be happy that the original music of our all favorite band is played live again. And as long as the original singer is still singing their songs, it is a very good deal! Sure i miss dime and vinnie as well. I have met dime in person etc. But in the end I am a music fan of Pantera. And this music is played again. 'Nothing else matters'. I remember seeing the OG 4 playing this late in the set, Far Beyond Driven tour. If I'm not mistaken Dime sat, and started it off on Vin's drum riser. I think every MF there blazed up when he began, in no time at all you couldn't see 10..maybe? 12 feet in front of you. Phil fired up a mega-joint someone had thrown on stage. I seem to recall Rex, and Dime coming up front to get a pull. Man I forgot just how amazing I felt at that moment. The contrast of the slow bluesy Sabbath cover, with the heaviness of the best damn Power Groove metal known to man was quite a change, tho felt every bit as soothing, and comforting as it did on the album. I've seen a hundred shows, and I've never felt more welcome, more at peace, more euphoric than I did at that moment. Looking back now, it almost felt like an out of body experience. God's honest truth"....The birth of my child is the only thing that ever made me feel better. I thank you a hundred million times for resurrecting that memory for me. Now it can be cherished, as it should have all along. Of that you can be certain. 🖤

To each their own on this one. Vinnie said he wouldn't play Panteras music without dime and I respect the fuck out of a brothers love. In hindsight dime was adamant that their music would become legendary. To all the naysayers imagine how many kids have these songs on their play lists and would never get the chance to see them played live. I can say yep it's a cover band but I'm 35 and I never got to see Pantera. I've got to see Phil's solo career, dimes and Vinnies.. to see dimes BFF play it his way not exact but fucking gold. Zakk didn't want to do this at first.
