PANTERA's set at the Monsters of Rock show in the USSR has gone down as an all time great metal performance at an all-time great metal show. This clip finds them in the moments leading up to that performance.

Exactly, they never should have brought them back without Vinnie and Dime Nd Phil is the last person who should ever be playing in a pantera "tribute" or whatever bs excuse they are using for this blatant cash grab. I mean phil wasnt allowed at either of the Abbott brothers funerals and both brothers died not even on apeaking terms with phil as he was the one who killed pantera, then he went out on his own and made "down" and "superjoint ritual" and neither of those bands held a candle to Pantera and for years Phil has been trying to cash in on the pantera name again and Vinny shot it down everytime, and rather than make ammends with Vinny, phil waited till he died to go get permission from Dimes X (since his eatate has dried up and she needs money also) this new pantera is nothing more than a cash grab and it sounds terrible to boot, the brothers are rolling over in their graves over this travesty
@hazardeurАй бұрын
@@bpmcmanson8701 what bothers me is that they call it Pantera. straight up. it would have been fine if it would be a tribute band. rexa nd phil did play in that band after all. calling it Pantera is just not right and its an obvious cash grab. that being said, i will still go see them as, having missed to witness them,, thats as close to an original P show I will ever get to see
@bpmcmanson8701Ай бұрын
@hazardeur well i hope you find some enjoyment in seeing them, though i will stick to old videos and CD's, to me it not only is a blatant cash grab but it just sounds so wrong to me. The 2 most irreplaceable members got replaced by people good in their own right but not good fits to play either of the brothers, i mean Dime had a specific style very few people can match and Zakk is great in his own way but what he cant do is play anything Dime did and not have it sound like Zakk wild. And phil sounds like he has been gargling glass for the past 20yrs and they do weird mashups of the songs that also just seem, feel and sound wrong. Then like u said its just called "Pantera" not a tribute or anything so there is a whole generation of kids who will grow up and think this slop is pantera 🤮🤧😭. Really the Abbott brothers were Pantera, yeah Rex was one of the original members playing back when they were a glam band and Dime used to sing and play guitar but realistically phil and rex could have been anyone, easily replaced but Dime and Vinny were the heart and sould of that band and without them its just not Pantera and closest thing or not, so for me, i didnt get to see the real pantera and thats sad but im not about to give money to the cash grab in support of something thats not even a shadow of its former self. There are alot of old great videos of the real pantera and Dime and Vinnie so i will stick to that, but if u can stomach the new slop and are willing to support the cash grab then more power to you and i hope you enjoy yourself doin it

For those that dont know, that's one of the most historically significant music performances in history. Easily a large contender for the largest concert ever with a million people in attendance (a lot of people try to argue events that are not purely concerts are number one, like city festivals, etc.), and this was 6 months roughly before the soviet union fell.
