OMG - Gracie dug up a tomato plant & still got a piece steak the next day? You really love that little girl 😂. Just joshing, they're still good for our souls, even when they're just being themselves & digging in the garden. Some sacrifices have to be made for those we love, lol. Those dinners looked very delicious & I'm going to try putting cream cheese on leftover spaghetti next time. I always forget about that!!! Thank you Bev. God bless you ❤

We are in a heat wave this week with highs in the upper nineties and high humidity so all cooking is off. I hard boiled a bunch of quail eggs and some chicken eggs yesterday for adding to the top of our chef salads. All the greens and peppers, celery, carrots, parsley are from the garden. I also made stuffed cabbage which we can just heat in the toaster oven for dinner. Have lots of canned up coleslaw for a quick side along with some 3 bean salad and using up our canned green beans. . I made all our bread over the weekend when it was cooler out in anticipation of the heat coming. I cooked up a pound of bacon for making some BLT sandwiches as well. Made a potato salad ( I make mine with a little sugar ,apple cider vinegar, relish, salt pepper, onions, a splash of yellow mustard and some mayo, paprika, parsley and hard boiled eggs and some chopped chives or green onions on top) as well as a tuna pasta salad just to make life easier this week. Jerusalem Artichokes and or potatoes will get cooked in the air fryer. Trying not to add extra heat to the house this week. Our main concern this week is to keep the garden watered and keep the chickens and ducks all hydrated with lots of cool water.

I made spaghetti for supper tonight! Did it up good with green peppers, vidalia onions (so sweet) hamburger and meatballs! Will have it again in a day or two. That steak looked delish till you cut it open! Don't do mine that bloody. I like them medium well and Scott lokes them medium. Potato salad looked so good. I'll have to try those hemp hearts someday. Scott likes dill pickles in his and i like bread and butter pickles in mine! LOL STEAK soubds so good! We haven't had a good steak in a year! Guess I'll splurge and get us some porterhouse or tbones!

I have been dehydrating lots over herbs and greens. I want to do pantry pull soups this winter. I also want Liz to learn several food preservation methods. We put a deposit on a pasture raised Idaho pig this year too. As you know with a half acre you sometimes have to out source your meat. Have a good day sis!

I made the same 4 cheese baked pasta I used spiral noodles it's what I had. On Friday. Tonight was the 4 cheese baked pasta with garlic bread. Those steaks had me drooling. What cut were they, Bev? The potato salad looked so easy to make. Much love from Thunder Bay Ontario

I know right Mrs V lets Squeeze that quarter . I learned that a pork shoulder butt ( the bottom of the shoulder) is supper cheap weight wise. And make 4 to 5 days worth of dinner with pulled pork for my family of 4. Love ya! I bought a 13 pound pork shoulder butt.

Hi Mrs. V. Love your videos, can you answer a question, I have enough beets for 9 pints, and I want to fill the canner with pints of pinto beans. At my altitude I need to process the beans for 75 minutes but the beets are for 50 minutes. Will it hurt the beets to process for an additional 25 minutes?

Grace will never learn when you tell her NO constantly and then give in constantly! so when you say NO to her for anything she wont know to listen and will keep on doing whatever it is you say NO Gracie, in the end that is NOT fair to her, NO dont eat the mouse! NO dont eat that plant! or weed! how can she distinguish between NO and NO? so Its not fair to get mad at her when she does do something wrong after you tell her no. Just sayin. Stay firm if you really are saying NO. OR just dont say NO to her at all just ignore her at the dinner table or when you are cooking. Then the no's MIGHT mean something to her when she is really doing something wrong or bad FOR her, its used to protect her in many cases right? Honestly I think you can afford a new box grater, its covered in rust why risk it?
