You can't compare Ramos to Maldini 😄 Maldini is waaay more better, smarter, cool headed and can make smart decisions instantly. Ramos on the other end is just trying to do the same, but loosing his cool many times ending uo with yellow and red cards. Maldini was one of the fundamental pillars for AC Milan, almost irreplacable. Ramos is just a kid, who you can fool into a red card, Maldini is a smart strategist and leader, who is cooling down his own team leading to a win.

But yeah he was doing this against not just slouch, you did notice some of them...but he did this against the likes of R9, Ibra, Zidane, Del Piero, Totti and many many more........and also, no, he never won the WC and it is his biggest regret to this day, after like so many WC and him getting older and after the robbery at the 2002 WC he just decided to focus on club football and retire from international football...little did he know Italy won in 2006, so he basically rejected the call from the national team...but if he didn't do that, the debate would be probably over of him being the best defender of all time.
