Just watched your epic trip .I know petrol was good 100km =2 litres .just go's to show if you have the time anything is possible. If you remember what was the costs hotel and food so I could budget for similar. I was really amazed how beautiful Poland is.

You must get a very sore arse after an hour or two! This is much better than a regular cycle tour, though. Some tourists come to NZ thinking to do a bicycle tour "because it's such a small country". But after puffing up our many hills, some long and steep, they often discard their bikes and buy small scooters like yours! Maps can be deceptive!

Great video, i loved it, im also planing to do a tour round the balkans with my '57 Tomos T03, did you have any major mechanical problems, also what spare parts did you take with you. Greetings Vlad / Macedonia Edit, Im guessing we have the same engine, since mine is also a 2 speed version , even almost the same color :)

Thanks Vlad! no major problems, once new chains got bit loose and jammed, some bolts and nuts needed tightening due hardroads. We had a lot of spareparts , like cylinder+piston, cable repair parts, sparkplugs, set of ignition parts, two inner tubes. We were not going to fail because technical problems=) we had checked everything before trip. You have some nice views to drive there, would be nice to drive to Balkans some time! Hopefully your trip comes true, will be watching you;)

Janis Ciemgals hi! It's Tunturi moped, made in Finland 1958-1987 with Puch 40cc engine. Green one is -71 automat, pink one is -74 2speed. Ours are bit tuned for better fuel economy and torq. Top speed maybe 55km/h on good day😁(45 is max.in Finland) on trip we tried to drive about 43km/h that was good for engine! Fuel consumption was calculated average for two mopeds, it was only 2L/100km. Unbelievable little, we had quite lot of weight on mopeds. Glad if you enjoyed watching our Mopedtrip!

yes, i try search over for "tunturi papa", but find only few pages on finnish, and no any revelant technical info / parameters. what is a purpose for what you choice this for travel? nowadays chinese / japan 100 - 125 cc cub bikes a-la honda innova / wave, i think, is better on all ways, and consume less fuel too, yet maintain enought difficulties on travel :) BTW, why you not put your rucksacks between legs when driving? see there also is comfortable niche for that, as on underbones...? safedrive.su/images/Travel/Somija/A710IS/IMG_8305.JPG

After ww2 it was quite poor in Finland, mopeds and Tunturi was important for going to work etc. In those days. So it's kind of Legend in Finland. its nickname Pappa Tunturi because old man used to drive mopeds(pappa means grandpa) We have many clubs for Tunturi in Finland, we do charity for veterans etc. For those reasons Tunturi is only 2wheel vehicle for us😆 At sometimes rucksack was in middle of frame, good place. Nice that so interested about our trip👍 Of course we are planing new trip someday. This summer we going to drive just in few club events, those routes only 100-150km.

in any way, is interesting to read about some astats of your travel too - fuel consumption, how much average you travelled in a day, how is max speed, and how is long-time speed? mopeds and another small displace technics in travelling is rare and interesting. nowadays all travel on 750cc and bigger, who was not so difficult, interesting, and rare :) time from time i reading one russian folk blog, who travel second time around world on 125cc motorcycle ( yamaha ybr 125 ) - including africa, dakar, europe ( also finland :D ), and now it is in north america....that was great, and small tech is good on consumptoion, have a small weight ( thus, much more offroad and so capabilities, than large enduro - touring), and relatively cheap itself ( new cost about 100 - 2500 euro versus about 14 000- 20 000 euro for average new touring enduro )....;) if you have a bit interest, can read my finland travel ( in russian, but you can use google translate for translating whole site, if you need ) : safedrive.su/travels/132-travel-finland.html

No pedals= NOT a moped...those are scooters.

they are indeed moped's. Tunturi didn't make any scooters in the 60s-70s.

scooters are mopeds that have a variator and have no pedals.
