New Ethiopian Focus Tree:
Defy the odds to defeat the Italian invader or resist the conqueror from abroad using unique Government in Exile abilities.
New Swiss Focus Tree:
Surrounded by France, Germany and Italy, the mountain nation of Switzerland finds strength in its neutrality, balancing competing factions and overtures from the great powers.
New Peace Conference Options:
Demilitarize zones of the map or entire nations, bid on the capital ships of defeated powers, or claim control of enemy resources or factories as reparations.
Aircraft Designer:
Design and build your own planes, from nimble interceptors that prioritize speed to durable bombers crafted to unload tons of destruction from high above.
Unit Medals:
A log of each division’s accomplishments lets you track their performance, and even allows you to award unique medals to division commanders for their actions in the field.
Embargo Interaction:
Embargo your enemies with a new diplomatic interaction, preventing them from trading with you if they have generated enough world tension.

The issue with HOI4 is just the massive air/sea regions there’s no depth to it. The HOI3 operational area system is so much more expansive and being able to bomb city or a country and select fewer specific regions makes sense. The same issue applies to sea combat and the complete lack of strategic depth, you either have more and better ships or you don’t. Guess paradox AI would be too dumb to play the naval game.

@@Jomchen hoi 3 was about as new gamer friendly as a prostitute with leprosy is rich. (Meaning not at all) hoi 4 is much more streamlined and has less of a learning curve so people can pick it up much easier, while still having a high skill ceiling. If you want hoi 3, go play it.

the problem is how to balance the old focus tree countries with the new one. The focus of Italian is so huge that nerf them bcz we need to spend more time to try to get rid of the debuff. Imagine German need 4 70 days Focus to get 12 Civilian Factory

01:59 - ...did they miss an "s" in "The 'Soldier King' remind the italians"...because I feel like they did, and it's supposed to say "...reminds the italians..." 07:33 - I feel like the description should say "...forever strive..." instead of "...forever strife..." Not a big detail but the "ce" in duce is pronounced similar to "Che", like in Che Guevara. Also looking forward to see more from the new DLC. Can't say I expected Switzerland to get a focus tree before Norway and Finland though.

When you pick a naval designer, you'll have to refit your ships in some way for the bonus to take effect - it's not passive. Even something as simple as AA upgrades will do. Literally anything.

Also, the Italian navy can handle itself 9/10 times if you build the ships in the production queue. Add 100 naval bombers to each air zone in the Med and you're pretty much good to go. I'm not sure if they've added negative debuffs that will dramatically affect the Italians, but as of current you really shouldn't be getting the whole navy sunk. Just don't try it without building any ships... that was painful to watch.

I see what happened. Never put surface ships on convoy raiding. That's what subs are for. It's a waste of oil and gets ships sunk. All 6 battleships should be together, and set to strike. Along with the heavy cruisers, 10 light cruisers, and 25 destroyers all in one fleet. The rest of the destroyers can be split into 8's and set to convoy escort or patrol. Split subs into 8's and put on convoy raiding.
