Paradox Grand Strategy

Күн бұрын

Crusader Kings III isn't just a game, but a way to bring you closer to the historical thrills of the medieval world. But how close did we get?
Game Director Alexander Oltner and Narrative Designer Verónica spoke with our friend historian Dr. Eleanor Janega (LSE) about the evolution of tournaments, the practical matters of pilgrimages and how Crusader Kings III tries to reflect what we know about the past, while giving players exciting events among strategic calculations.
When did the joust become the center of tournament events?
What was it like to go on a pilgrimage?
And, most importantly, what did the Pope think about all of this?
Join us to learn answers to these and many, many more questions in the first part of this wide-ranging conversation.
Part two is coming soon.
Do not forget to take a look at Eleanor's blog. You can find it here: going-medieval...

Alexander I know the community did not respond well to T&T initially but I have to say that I love this expansion and could not imagine going back to the way the game was before. Great work everyone, I am very happy with his years major update.

@luzekiel9343 initially it was not received well. The first few announcements and the showcase barely showed anything that was coming with the update. This is a downside to drip feeding info about your game out one week at a time.

The last time you did something similar, I bought "The Bright Ages" and that was a great read. So I am looking forward to this series. Oh neat, there is a book here as well. Well, something new to read.

That's epic if Dr. Janega plays CK3. I've seen her stuff on History Hit. Good stuff.

I lived in Paris before and am 99% sure that's it. The half-island near the top of the map is probably the Ile Saint-Louis.

......First minute in this video and I hear "The first thing people think about the Middle ages are tournaments". This was enough for me to understand why CK3 is like it is compared to CK2.

Even educated Americans overuse the word "like" its painful. I thought it was just young people with limited like vocabulary like that like said like a lot like.
