Hey, Lu! Just received your latest email. Can you tell me what you have done to compensate for how close your speakers are to your back wall? I have a similar situation with proximity and cannot change it. Any suggestions??

So in my case I put them up against the wall to lower the fundamental frequency that the lows are pushing. Shifting more of my sub energy lower! This helps flatten out the mids better in my experience and for the last couple months I've played with different configurations and spoke with people who exclusively work in studio tuning to get different options of approaching the best setup. In the end the one that resulted in what I believe to be the best setup was right up against the wall and sitting near them. I get less acoustic interference, More bottom end out of my 5" monitors (which are insanely massive sounding, check out Strauss NF-3), and best of all, everything above 300 for the most part is 2dB +/- ! If you let me know what issue you're experiencing maybe I can give a specific tip that I learned and was communicated that I feel may work for you too!

@@MasteredbyLu this actually makes a lot of since for me too. I’m using 5” monitors so, if I’m hearing (reading) correctly, that will increase the subs making me less likely to add TOO much in the sub range. I’ll get you a pic of what I’m working with on Twitter. I follow both you and Dee Kei on there.

@@dannycancino3614 yeah! Mine have a pretty good Amount but because the wall (in this case we’ll call it the boundary) it reinforces the lows with minimal phase issues. Obviously softer mounted would be ideal as far as phase goes but in my case just not possible so next best is right against it. Remember if you have more positives than negative values in your graph it *could* be easier to find ways to correct it and with this method you’ll see the dip most people get at around 80-120 in most traditional room sizes start to lessen and move in a more favorable position :)
