Am I the only person who finds this song quite uplifting? It does beautifully define a "Quarter-Life Crisis", and the terror of realizing you are now fully responsible for making your career work, building a group friends, and finding a partner in life. But, that moment is a call to action to take on whatever challenges put in front of you, and become the person you always wanted to be. Does it suck? Is it stressful? Yah - but if you learn to embrace it, and get to that other side? It's quite beautiful, and you can laugh at it the way this song does.

I remember it like it was yesterday; I was 15 and the world had just stopped for everybody. I remember how my tiny window revealed a quiet, cloudy world. I felt alone. I felt like everybody was gone. Until a strange melody begun to spill into my ear drums. I stared at my window in anticipation and curiosity as the melody began to etch itself into the moment. The lyrics drove me into a world I was beginning to know all too well. As I’ve grown older this world has changed so much and so has what this song means to me. I used to believe this was a song about the crippling pain and fear of loneliness; how it’s a curse that you should try to avoid. Now I think it’s a song about growing up and understanding that loneliness is a part of life and once you accept it you’ll understand that you’re not truly alone. Thank you Paramore, for this wonderful song.

I love how sarcastic this song is. Like it’s so uptempo and sounds like a nice happy song about growing up and wanting to be an adult. This song came out when I was 16 and I had no bills. My mom passed away when I was 22. So with that and adulting, these lyrics make me cry sometimes.

A couple of weeks later I got arrested for Assault GBH ( a fight my landlord started then she went to press charges coz she lost) . It was on a Friday so I knew I was spending the weekend in jail. And the first phone call I made was to my mama , there was no " I told you so " or anything like that she didn't ask questions she just came through for me, got me a great lawyer, flew out to be with me aaand wow .. as long as she's still alive I'll always cry to my mama!! And I was singing this song the whole weekend in those holding cells lol

To people who are saying this song is too "pop" for them and they don't like Paramore any more, here's a little music education for you; NO BAND STAYS WITH THE EXACT SAME SOUND THE ENTIRE TIME. Queen, one of the greatest rock bands of all time, never stuck to the same sound. They did progressive rock, hard rock, operatic rock, pop rock, heavy metal, thrash metal (they created one of the first thrash metal songs), Elvis style rock, disco, and eighties electronic. They evolved and changed over time. If you listen to their first album "Queen" and their final album "Made in Heaven", they sound VERY different. So Paramore is just trying something new. If they stuck to the same thing it would get boring. So maybe you miss the "old Paramore", well then you can go off and be sulky while we enjoy this. Maybe they'll stick with this sound, maybe they won't, but it's up to them as a band. Personally, I like this song. I think it's a nice upbeat tune that has a real gospel and soul feel, two genres I adore. So I'm going to go enjoy this and their older stuff, because their is nothing wrong with band altering it's sound.

Loved this song. Ain’t It Fun emphasizes the ups and downs of adulthood. Being on your own is one thing, but bring forced to handle everything on your own is something that really hits hard. Overall, they all make it seem like it’s got a positive, uplifting message to share, but the truth is, not everything is fun. Nope. You’ll start to realize that the real world is far cruel and harsh than you actually think.
