The paranasal air sinuses often cause pain or discomfort if they get infected. Let's have a look on anatomical models and a human skull and see if we can find the four groups of sinuses in the face.
Is that a huge spider running across the floor at 7:10?

What an extremely helpful, educational tool. I studied medicine long before the invention of KZfaq. What a fantastic teaching tool this would have been for me back then. I always struggled to picture what was happening with these sinuses. I academically knew where they were but my mind's eye didn't have an accurate 3D rendition of the layout. Marvellous video. The models make it so much easier to understand. 🎉

In real anatomy you can see the bones are just the harder part of the muscles, if that makes sense. They aren't actually very separate or thick.

My experience here, as a layman, is, that the entire sinus system in the nose is kept lubricated and healthy by cerebrospinal fluid. Promiscuity can alter this because the csf can be wasted to excess via that behaviour and its spinal pathways. When the sinuses are corrected and lubricated the air that passes through them has a delay mechanism that feeds air into the lungs differently and a volume of air enters the upper chest cavity, greatly improving the efficiency of the lungs...even massaging the aortic arch. In all videos of very ill people I notice that none of them are breathing efficiently using the upper bronchial tubes and suggest this may be the reason for some of these illnesses. It's early days yet, but I thought worth a mention here.

@@SamWebster so it’s not like sinus lifts like dental procedure videos? Like little pouches in behind the bone? Idk maybe I’m looking at it wrong . Do you have any simpler models that I can look at
@SamWebster
@SamWebster 3 жыл бұрын
@@Bunnyland35 The bony sinus space is lined with mucosa. It's like a pouch of mucosa inside the bony space. In a sinus lift you want to have more bone and less space, for example to bolt dental implants into. So you need to push the mucosa away from the bone towards the centre of the sinus and then get bone to grow in the place you pushed the mucosa away from.

Now for the best question......Tell us how to MAKE them all drain effectively during allergy season?
@khalid6050ify
@khalid6050ify 4 жыл бұрын
Try warm water with salt, some clear vinegar drops, also use soda bicarbonate with warm water, also use Grogling of throat with above. Wash under shower in mouth as to remove sticky stuff. Use of antihistamine and Telynol as per doctor advice. Blowing nose is bit tricky as air and sticky mucous RIP the skin of Septum or Vestibul of your nose. Drink lot of saline Onion soup with salt & Lemon to clear chest or throat mucous. NASONEX loosen the mucous also on counter spray helps ease allergy. Distinguish what is causing basement damping, stagnant air or hole from your old wooden roof causing allergy from mould or fungus.This is hell of job as I had 3 month rag weed allergy but open chill of area from 2 years got me struggling in winter 5 months.

The best explanation is with this layer-skull and vertical cross-section. But you use them too short and too little as if you were afraid of them. You are playing with light and other skulls which do not give the viewer any worthy knowledge. Useful is perhaps 30% of the clip.
