I kept my cool in the intro until Mathew made a return and I immediately lost it. This intro was brilliant.

It always is jarring to me how amazing and almost ironclad Nidoking use to look back then, just to look almost goofy with it's 3D model in games nowadays.

I always loved the poison type. It's effect is straight forward and dope af. I only play the first 2 gens and unfortunately not a lot of great options

Haven't even watched it and know I'm gonna love it lol. This should be the one the gyms in Pokemon tcg are set up. Rather than the types the paralyze gym, poison gym, etc.

Here's a challenge: the Mulligan Deck Challenge. Basics only, no trainers, and you're only allowed to have one Pokemon and up to four copies of that Pokemon. This is inspired by the infamous Mulligan Mewtwo deck. 4x Movie Promo Mewtwo, 56x Psychic Energy. The result is a deck that always gets at least one Mewtwo and a bunch of psychic energy, which is really all it needs, but tends to mulligan several times at the start of a match. This deck actually made a comeback in 6th gen when Tin Promo Mewtwo EX showed up, making it one of only a handful of classic deck builds that have actually been viable in some form in later generations alongside Haymaker and Rain Dance.

Also, toxic is easily the best move in the game behind solar beam, aurora beam, and dragon rage

Gotta say, Venomoth put a lot of work there thanks to the whole ability of changing its type.

How would a challenge similar to a Nuzlocke go? Maybe not the whole 'first pokemon you find' clause, but the 'once something is knocked out, it cannot be used again' one.

I am still In support of the Promotional-Cards-only run. Another fun run would be Pokémon with ONLY Pokémon powers. Probably an easier challenge but it would still be fun with options.

in the modern online tcg game, a built a deck based on poison damage. the newer cards have interesting options for this, with some pokemon dealing like 80 damage when poisoning, and there are pokemon whose pokemon power increased the poison damage. it is a very fun deck to use, and it can drive some opponents mad because they constantly take additional damage

This is a very interesting challenge! Speaking of TCG 2, seeing all of the silly requests made me think of a interesting challenge. Aside from the all of one energy challenge, you must use a deck that can meet ALL of the requirements opponents can give you.

It's videos like this that make me think you're some kind of masochist. This was still a fun theme for a challenge and I am short of surprised how difficult it was. Your Paras/Parasect challenge looked like easy mode in comparison! Very amused by the intro/outro skits, they've got a great energy to them.

Not sure if you know, but you can sort cards in your hand! It's either select or start, but it organizes them by type of card. If you just prefer them in draw order, then disregard this comment lol

I created a deck that used fossil magmar for poison and gengar to move damage with curse to allow a poisoned pokemon to remain in play longer.

I've got a good one for you. Can you beat this game with only the Pidgey line? I was able to get all the way to Isaac, but I just couldn't beat him. That being said, I believe the solution lies with the GB Pidgeot. Good luck!

We love paraspectre and his live action intros!

When I recently beat TCG2, I ended up going with a poison deck as my main when type advantage wasn't a good option (yeah, I switch decks regularly). Really opened my eyes to poison in the tcg - it's pretty beast. TCG2 in particular also adds a bunch of amazing poison cards like Grimer (the upskirt one) and Dark Arbok (which is possibly MY favorite poisonboi). In the first game, Venomoth is a surprise monster pick. I never used it in a pure poison deck, but in my Bug only decks, it's amazing, as Butterfree, Venomoth and Scyther's free retreat cost, healing and status basically make THE most well-rounded core I can think of. Venomoth is also quite fun with the colorless eeveelutions. I did try to work Nidoking into it, but it was tough, because Nidoran itself feels like such a liability. When it's out, it's amazing though. I think I might want to build a Nidoran deck in TCG1 at some point, because the two actually support each other quite nicely.

This challenge was definitely made harder by only having 1 line of each pokemon, but I guess that's the point. Nidoking decks are really fun. Turn 2 Breeder Evolution and then Turn 3 energy for Toxic. Just Melts everything except Snorelax, but that's what Muk is for.

Shouldn't the intro have had Matthew getting mugged for his lunch money and then getting dunked headfirst into the snow? Muk's toxic gas really is one of the most useful poke powers in the game. Shutting down AI poke power nonsense is very powerful, if not necessarily always applicable 31 minutes-"Hope the grand masters don't take 3 attempts or I have a long way ahead of me" 15 minutes left of the video-looks like they did take a number of attempts
