SOUND DEMO ONLY, no talking. I have finally found the digital keyboard that provides the best piano experience possible! I totally recommend it if you are a classical pianist. After spending a whole day at Sweetwater Music in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and trying all 30 digital keyboards available, I was so happy with my choice!

Kawai MP11SE - 2nd demo: • Best Studio Keyboard f...
My expectations were extremely high since I was searching for the most realistic piano sound and the best keyboard feel that would be as close as possible to a grand piano.
I was not satisfied with the Nord Grand digital keyboard and Korg Grandstage 88 because both of them have a plastic keybed. They are meant to be lighter, more portable, and don't feel robust like the Kawai MP11SE. The piano sound seems a bit artificial too, it lacks the warm crystalline sound from Kawai.
Even though Roland RD-2000 has hybrid wooden keys, they don't even come close to the experience of playing on the Kawai MP11SE. I can basically do any type of articulation on this amazing keyboard! Hope this helps! Don't buy anything until you have a chance to try your future keyboard hands-on!

@@pardonmypiano You’re not honesty my first choice was the Yamaha N3X AvantGrande Hybrid Piano. However pricewise it was certainly out of reach for me. It’s almost AU$30,000 and is selling for AU$26,999 and that’s being the best price. My second alternative was the Kawai NV10 which is also a hybrid, but once again the price for not what I was wanting to pay. I then thought of the Yamaha CVP serious which I have tried at the music shop and must say I was rather impressed which not only the quality of the grand pianos eight presents what’s in a matter of fact all the musical instruments on it are absolutely mind blowing. I even love the fact that it has like 658 styles that you can actually adopt whilst you playing. It’s almost like playing what a real orchestra or a jazz band or for that matter any form of music style in one place. I also want to make sure that it also looks nice aesthetically as to me it is important as almost having a nice piece of furniture as well and lovely to look at. To me Music and my dog are basically my life. I totally agree with you that your Kawai stage Piano is by far much better than the Roland and Korg as I feel those two don’t seem to connect with the player but then again that’s my personal opinion.

Hello my friend.. first of all you are amazing player i wish i reach your skill level someday then i can rest in peace :).. now i have some questions if you can answer please…Have you tryed mp11se vs nord grand?? And if yes how much better is the keybed of the mp11 compared to nord grand if you can describe please.. i first started learning piano with a nord stage 3 88 ha because i own a sound and lights rental company and they ask it for rent..but after sometime i started not like the fatar tp40l keybed action and i bought for demo a nord grand which i like it much but its still 2 expensive for having a non graded kawai mp7 keybed.. now i am thinking of getting the mp11.. i dont like much the sounds of mp11 compared to nords and i also dont like the 34kg weight of it.. i just care for the closest to real piano keybed action… so im thinking getting mp11 se and midi with my stage 3 or before that i will try the kawai sounds eq reverb etc to play with them… what do you think should be the best to do?? Keep the grand which i will be able to gig with it also?? Buy mp11 but just for home and gig with stage 3?? Or stay with stage 3 and wait with the money for the next 1 or 2 years if something better and new comes up to buy??
@pardonmypiano
@pardonmypiano 2 жыл бұрын
if you just care about the closest you can get to a real piano, then the mp11se is the way to go. The keyboard feels 3 times better then nord, which to me really seems like playing a toy. There's no depth to it and I hate the plastic feel keys. Mp11 is made of wooden keys, and offer a great deal of expressivity when playing. The nord is only made for playing church music/bands where the focus is not the solo instrument. 34 kg might seem a lot, but honestly I have never had problems carrying it to my gigs. You said that you don't like the inbuilt sounds. Well, you can always download VSTs, the mp11se has a midi out/usb port to connect it to a computer. By the time you wait 2 more years, there will be thousands of other players ahead of you enjoying their equipment. Hope this helped a lot my friend!!

@@pardonmypiano my big concern with the nord grand was that nord asked customised the keybed from kawai the rh3 .. which is the keybed from kawai mp7se and mp7 has graded hammer action and nord took this keybed without being graded and people saying that the whole keybed of nord grand is like the upper right end of kawai mp7 action which means thats why is easy to play on it as you said also. I dont know if this keybed is good for training and studying for a newbie like me ( you can hear a video from my youtube profile ).. tell me please how you are able to carry mp11 alone in gigs? @christophermabry
@christophermabry 2 жыл бұрын
That is the keyboard I have and I like it very much, it is as nice as any that I have played before. But as you imply in your MIDI controller comment, it is only a keyboard and has no sampled pianos or built-in speakers. I use mine in combination with Pianoteq, the best piano virtual instrument I have encountered. That has to be installed on a PC to which you connect via an audio interface along with monitors for sound. A bit involved but worth it for me due to the very realistic nature of that Modartt product. It has no samples at all, the tones are algorithmically generated so instead of only 12 or so volume levels you get 127.

As a beginner I can’t decide between the MP11SE, VPC1, Nord Grand/Piano5, Roland Fantom 8 or even a Komplete Kontrol S88. I want a realistic keybed but also want to be able to grow into a lot of the other features too, like to layer strings and orchestral stuff (therefore I feel like I’d need a modwheel). The Fantom seems to have more bells and whistles I might use like the loops/sequencer, synths and pads. If I went with the MP11SE, what would I need to pair with it to gain the other features I’d be giving up that something like the Fantom offers?
@pardonmypiano
@pardonmypiano Жыл бұрын
Hi! My opinion is that you should get the MP11SE because the keys feels the most realistic. Nord Grand feels like a toy to me because it has a different purpose (more for church musicians or electronic music). Nord Grand's keys are made out of plastic vs real wooden keys for MP11SE. You can than pair the MP11 with a good VST in Logic Pro or FL Studio and you can get your own orchestra sounds and whatnot. :) Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions

@@pardonmypiano Hi Thank you for the quick response. That is kind of where I was leaning, I like the sound of the Nords but figure I can find something else I like in a VST. So currently leaning toward Noire or Keyscape. Not that I dont like the MP11SE sounds, I do. For the sequencer/loop stuff the Fantom offers, is all of that done in a DAW as well? Or should I be looking at another piece of hardware for that? This will all be mounted to a standing desk with a pull out drawer I'm building for the piano, so I really only have room for 1 full size piano but a small MIDI controller or other device like a Maschine would be OK for on top of my desk if I find I need one.

I have to say that all these instruments you list are very heavy duty for a beginner. Is this going to be your first piano purchase? If not, what are you using already? Maybe a more modest instrument will do until you know more about which way you want to go. If piano key action is critically important to you, then you are probably not going to venture far down the organ/synth/electronic route. Please forgive my heavy editing of my comment, it's because the word "beginner" got me thinking.

@@reltius2993 Well you like the Kawai sound, so the ES120 makes sense from that perspective. I understand that some issues on the ES110 have been ironed out in the later (ES120) model - mainly the wobbly keys. I'm more into Yamaha sounds, but that's another story. The other portable pianos for beginners (that I'd recommend) are Alesis Prestige/Prestige Artist, Yamaha P-121/125, Roland FP-30X, Casio PX-S1100 and Korg B2. Supposedly, the Donner DEP-20 is pretty good and very cheap, but I haven't tried it.
