Kids move fast, but they should be made to clean up these messes, if possible, imo.

People don't realize the sheer power a single child can have in the span of minutes They have no inhibitions or filter and the intrusive thoughts always win. And if you have more than one, You've birthed an accomplice. The younger the messier. Don't blame the kid and it's not always the parents fault either. We are only human. Just going to the toilet is enough time to wreck a room. But you had to go. They need outlets, enrichment and entertainment. They can't help it. Chances are the parent was just as much of a handful at that age too. Love them and let them grow. They might be a parent someday as well.

If my brother or l had done this stuff, we would've been sweeping, scrubbing, paying for replacements, gotten grounded, and still wouldn't be able to sit down.

I have four kids; magic eraser will take sharpie marker off most things. If not that then try “goo gone”. And the “wet ones” brand of hand wipes (in the red package) will also take off most everything else (including stains from clothing) Baby wipes take most stains out. My youngest is now ten. She decided our living room wall was her own personal art gallery when she was about two. I made her scrub it. She also got into all the nail polish SEVERAL times and tried to “paint” her entire body and the bathroom when she was also two. I have a lot of pictures of her at two crying because she got into trouble. It came to a point where my kids were not allowed to have: playdough, tiny Barbie shoes and accessories, tiny post earrings, mini lego sets, markers (of any kind), slime, and bubble bath soap. I also took away the nail polish. Some things are just SO MUCH FUN that small children can’t handle them. Eventually we reintroduced things little by little. There’s still a couple items that I won’t buy because my youngest just can’t contain herself. Including expensive bath bombs and shower gel soaps.
