It wasn’t for no reason - there was great concern that he may not be alone, as well as a list with all of the schools on it - including the kindergarten playground… so they had good reason to wait to release the kids. Keep in mind that all of our schools are located within a few blocks.

@@johnchamberlain9512 He was never able to enter the building so the safe thing to do was to keep the children locked inside! The three younger schools were evacuated earlier because they are located 1-3 blocks away, but it took the HS & MS longer because the suspect was neutralized directly between the two schools and there were kids from both schools that witnessed things (this was during lunch, recess, & outdoor gym class). All HS & MS students were given a baseline interview in order to determine who needed to be interviewed further.. There is never a perfect way to go about these situations, but I’m proud of my town today - I’d rather the district be extra careful than take even a slight risk. (My 7 year old niece spent 2hrs hiding behind a bookcase today so I promise I’m not some rando YT troll)

​@@johnchamberlain9512 It's called an active crime scene. These tend to be very chaotic. Particularly when it involves so many witnesses/victims of such a young age. Conflicting reports fly faster than the bullets and they have to keep the site closed to conduct interviews and preserve any possible evidence so they can piece together EXACTLY what happened. There will obviously be no trial, but everything still needs to be analysed for future training and procedure development so the kids can be kept safe as safe as possible from this kind of situation in the future. These cops love their community and the kids are a part of that. Protect and Serve. Better an overabundance of caution and a few hours of worry than more injured or dead kids.

There has only been ONE shooting where a trans person was involved and that ONE resulted from the bullying, not the trans "illness",as you so delicately put it, itself. If the kid was being treated, this most likely wouldn't have happened. Meds don't cause this. LACK of meds and treatment cause this. Why do you need to know so badly? The kid screwed up and paid for it with his (or her) life! There is no continuing danger to the community from this kid. Everyone else is going home with their children safe tonight. They are not. He or she is lying in a cold, hard steel cabinet instead of sleeping in their soft, warm bed. They are suddenly faced with the prospect of having to bury their CHILD! A child didn't die from a sports accident or car wreck. They died violently. No graduation, no college, no grandkids. None of the things they would normally be looking forward to in the future. There IS no future. This knowledge is also combined with the shame and guilt of "How did we miss that our child was in so much pain?" ," Why didn't we make sure our guns were secured better?", and "How could they be capable of this?" Let them mourn. You will get the chance to throw your callous and ignorant judgements soon enough.

I live in Mount Horeb, it is real. Not everything is a conspiracy. Only the perpetrator was killed because the school has a updated security and he wasn’t able to get into the school before he was killed by police. There were students outside for recess and/or gym class, but they were all able to run away
