Thanks for the informative video. I'm new to climbing and have become practically obsessed with watching the recent comps. I'm so psyched for the Olympics. I love all the climbers. They're all so amazing!

that was awesome! love how you introduce the climbers! although i have to say watching this high stakes competitions always makes my heart race, it is so stressful because i want to cheer for everyone haha oh well, still excited to watch the olympics! :D

Thans a bunch, Thomas! I enjoyed "getting to know" these climbers a little better as I was putting the video together. And I agree with you, it does make my heart rate rise too! Especially on the lead wall where there is only 1 attempt, and you don't want your favorite competitors to fall too soon! I guess having something invested emotionally is what makes it exciting to watch though 😀 Can't wait for the Olympics!!

Thanks for the rundown! I've been wondering how things would shake out after Budapest. Personally, I am delighted to hear that Alex Megos has made it in spite of his recent finger pulley injury.

Great rundown! I think it’s interesting how big rock climbing is in Japan and how dominant they’ve been. However there’s not much interest in speed climbing and have no speed athletes qualified.

Hi, Micah! I'm glad you enjoyed the rundown. Yeah, that's a great observation about Japan's lack of speed climbing athletes at the Olympics. And then you have a nation like Indonesia who qualified 4 speed climbing athletes but no one for boulder & lead. I'm excited to watch both events at the Olympics this year and I'm glad they are separate this time around! I appreciate your comment 👍🏻👍🏻
