I am half French (Dad) and half Caribbean or Puerto Rican (Mom) and was born in New York. Aperitivo is something we have before a meal, preferably dinner, to open the appetite. And you have no idea how much I have been enjoying your video "French Girl Beauty" because you are describing me. When it comes to makeup and style. I don't like foundation because I rather spend my money on skincare and today, the only foundation I could say I own is Chanel water tint and it's perfect for me. Thank you for another great video! Love it all, especially the lipstick 😊. In Norway things are changing, but still homes and food is important. Inviting people home instead of out, with homemade food. It used to be like a meal we simply call 'coffee' at around 5 pm. Coffee homemade cakes and other traditional things to eat with your coffee. But times are changing and I'm honestly not sure how people do it, it's transition times. I think younger people invite friends for dinner at home. Tomorrow Sunday, we are 3 neighbours from a long time back meeting at one for 'coffee' at 1 pm. The two others are a generation above me, in their early 80s. Love these people. We don't really think about what people wear make up wise, but clothes wise, don't look like a tramp.

Hello Angela. I am sure you look gorgeous at three in the morning. I was born in Colombia and there they have “ Aperitivos”. Here in the U S they call them Appetizers. And I can make my meal with just two or three small pieces. I keep my masks in my small fridge in my bedroom. If there is any serum left I put the bag in the fridge and use it the next day. XO😘😘😘

In the U.S. we have "going out for drinks", "happy hour", and the more glamorous term from the past "having cocktails" or "the cocktail hour". Regardless of the term, I hope it is always seen as a special moment and that it is a time to get dressed up or at least be refreshed if after work.....

I had to google the bars that you mentioned and I literally wrote down the names of all three. These are places that I would love to visit someday when I go to the US. I know I will probably not have a reason to go to Washington but before the lockdowns I would go to New York from time to time to watch the shows on Broadway. I was saddened to learn that they are closing the Phantom of the opera. I must have seen it at least 10 times and I always feel so emotional as if I watch it for the first time. Of course there are a lot of other Broadway shows that I love but the Phantom was the first one that I watched in New York and probably this makes it so special to me. I love New York even though it always scares me a little. Thank you for all the thoughtful comments. I always learn something new and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I truly appreciate it. :)

Yes in US we have happy hour, or cocktail time. In Michigan it's 5 pm we do it at home or up north in our cabins around a fire pit. Also bars and restaurants do happy hour several times a day at different times you can get half off appetizers and cocktails and special chef tastings. It's a great time of the day to be with friends and unwind. Gorgeous look Angela ! ❤️

@@Frenchforaday Hello Angela, it is wonderful! We must be sisters from the heart as we think alike. Fire pit is my absolute favorite and at my home in lower Michigan the fireplace is always going and we frequently use our outside fire pit for happy hour and to roast marshmellows and make smores. And of course usually music and dancing but a fire just makes everything magical especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thank you for all you share for so many of us 🥰

Before Covid lockdowns, My friends and I had a book club and we met at one of the chain restaurants that is also a coffee shop called Panera. We would all get coffee and pastries and talk about the book we read that month. I miss it so much. Everyone has moved. One of my friends pasted away.

Happy hour! I’m from USA - Florida specifically (Orlando area). We are a huge foodie town and happy hour is a great way to try new places. Usually is from 4-6 or so (right after work).

We wear the same shades in Chanel foundations, so I will have to check out that Tom Ford blush. After a long search following the discontinuation of Armani Sheer Blush #10, I finally found Pat Mcgrath Divine Blush in Fleurtatious.... which I really like as a soft nude pink. Wouldn't mind having a second because it's really hard to find light blushes as fair as we are. 💕

These French sessions are fantastic and the highlight of my KZfaq week. Thank you for doing these.b I tried a Genefique mask yesterday. I am still not sure which side is face down. They are very tricky to unfold. And GREAT ideas on how to use up the left over serum.

On the mask there is a side that is flat and super smooth. This should be on the face but don't worry too much. It's the serum that's important and that works. You can't go wrong here. I'm from Québec, next to Québec City: we do have apéro, we call it the same. But I wouldn't say this is a tradition... I use to go on thursday nights after work, before I had my kids. Usually, we take diner between 17h and 18h30. This is quite early comparing to France!

I live and work in Seoul, South Korea. We don’t have this kind of tradition, but there may be gatherings after work. It can be with your family or friends, but a lot of the times it is with your co workers after work on the weekdays. It depends on where you work and if it is more official or personal. After Covid-19 happened, it reduced a lot. It is called a 회식(Hwheshik). You look beautiful as always and thank you, thank you for your insight as always! In Greece dinner is typically served very late around 9:00 but people go out for « coffee » as we call it around 6:00 -7:00. We love to dress and make up even though younger generation late 20s are a lot more careful and discrete with make up. Greek women rarely wear red lipstick as it is not natural. We prefer more nude, brown, or even mauvy tones when it comes to lipstick. The focus is the eyes and the mat, tan looking skin, very mediterranian hues. In Switzerland where I live apero hour is very famous, however unlike the french, swiss are very humble, very calvinist and definitely do not do « dress to impress », it is rsther considered vain and unnecessary. Make up is simple, white skin, red lip depending on the occasion. Gotta love the swiss. ;)

Great video, the older I get the less eyeshadow I wear. The only question is do you use sunscreen or because it’s evening is that why you didn’t put any on?

Hi lovely, I always use SPF 50 because my skin is very sensitive to sunlight but also I believe everyone should wear SPF daily. Here I didn't apply any because I was getting ready around 18:00 PM and it was more like my evening look. SPF's that I like and work well for me under makeup are Murad's correct and protect, Eucerin oil control SPF 50, or La Roche Posay fluid. There is Elta MD clear SPF if you are based in the US. It's almost impossible to find it in Europe though. Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo

What is the best brand for matter lipstick for mature people?

Hi Rubaida :) I can't say that a certain brand does the best matte lipsticks. I love the matte lipsticks of Dior - so these are Dior Rouge Matte or Dior Rouge Velvet. Another brand that makes gorgeous matte lipsticks is Chanel - Their Rouge Allure Velvet are stunning. I don't like Chanel's Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme. They are too drying. Guerlain also have beautiful matte lipsticks. So look into those three brands, They are very good. I am now testing some more affordable brands and I will share more in the next videos :) xoxo

We have a happy hour here but of course the US has ruined it because most people I know gorge themselves on the food and get drunk. I have to say we’re working class so maybe the upperclass/rich have a more civilized happy hour. I’m sure they do. So I don’t participate in going out to happy hour but we do something nice at home occasionally that I think is equal to yours.

Hi Charli :) It's lovely to do it at home too. From time to time (especially before the lockdowns I used to invite friends for aperitivo at home. It's always so cozy and nice. I would prepare small snacks that would be like appetizers so that they won't ruin the dinner. In the US you also have beautiful traditions such as Halloween which I always loved. It looks so fun especially in smaller towns where kinds and adults dress up and go from door to door. I always wanted to participate in something like this. In Europe we acknowledge Halloween but it's not the same. Overall Americans are more hard working than Europeans so I guess there is less time for such events every day. I like your presentations but choice of skin care products is unfortunate. Brand name products are full of synthetic chemicals such as preservatives, emulsifiers etc.. and very little active components. I generally don't put anything on my face which I can't eat.

Aperitif isnt common in the uk unless it is a formal occasion like a wedding. I think British eating habits are very unhealthy really. Too fatty and stodgy,and the culture of forcing food on people who dont want it.

Happy hour! I’m from USA - Florida specifically (Orlando area). We are a huge foodie town and happy hour is a great way to try new places. Usually is from 4-6 or so (right after work).
