I can tell both of you never go outside. We're predators, other species recognize us as predators. So with your logic nature should always be silent. Seriously, go outside. Why would crickets go quite for a cougar or bear? They aren't prey to those creatures. Sometimes nature just goes quiet. Try Googling deaths by cougars or bears in North America. Then think of all the people outside that put themselves in harms way. Odds are in your favor that you won't need that gun. Bear mace will fair better if it's needed, unless you're hunting.

As someone who spends the majority of time outdoors I can say without hesitation that total silence in the woods is never a good thing. Last time the woods went silent on me was 0400 while hunting. As it turns out I wasn’t alone. An actual meth-head was stalking up behind me.

@@McMannis505 where are you spending time outdoors? Central park? I live outdoors. I lived out of a van for the past year so I could climb the Cascades, Wind Rivers, Tetons, San Juans, the Wasatch, La Sals... etc. I've done more than 100 peaks this year. I've hiked all hours you can think of. I've encountered the silence and nothing was wrong. Why would nature go quiet for a tweaker and not you? It doesn't make sense. They don't react to threats for you. Do animals hold their breath only when you're in danger? I assure you, it's more than likely coincidence. I'm a photographer so I do my best to be in remote areas for sunrise. I do most adventures solo. There's little to nothing to fear out there. We're apex predators.

It's obvious to the average person they hide things but they tend to have good reason to do so. The human race as a whole wouldn't handle a lot of things well resulting in planet wide chaos death on massive scales possibly entire sections of land being nuked and the world as we know it being destroyed or damaged beyond repair. There are also likely plenty of things they hide just because they want to keep it to the select few they designate worthy of sharing it with.

The only clue we have is that “they” are attracted to light. Other than that, the MTF was sent in a small group meaning the “thing” was not Keter level since anything Keter needs more than a dozen and is hard to contain. It has to be something Euclid, since the MTF commander said it was “contained”. Those are the only things I’ve picked up. If you got any clues or ideas, unload em’ and find this “thing”.

I thought that I should make his comment, as people in the comment section sounded a bit confused as to what’s going on. There are some things in the forest. There are multiple, as referenced when the officer said the things are attracted to light. We don’t know what they are, but the are definitely predators. They are very difficult to kill, and that’s with modded AR15s and long barrel, slug using shotguns. They only seem to hunt at night. The are mainly bound to the forest. The government does NOT want this getting out, as it would create mass panic. If you have any more questions, reply to my comment. Upvote so new listeners can see this!

This is what I can deduce of what the creature was: •The need of hollow point bullets suggest it’s something either large or perhaps fast. And that it is mostly of flesh due to need of hollows. •Attracted to light and no sightings during the day, suggesting it is a nocturnal creature. Perhaps like a large owl-like creature or perhaps possum. •Going off of the attraction to light fact, it could be the fact of it being a insect with a soft exterior of some sort.

The protagonist in this creepypasta is really stupid. He can't figure out why he is not allowed to use a flashlight despite the fact that he literally heard someone say "I think they're attracted to light!". There are clearly monsters in the woods that are attracted to light, and I know that sounds paranoid, but it's obvious at this point.

Yeah that has to be the part that I didn't understand, these monsters are attracted to light yet they attacked some campers and a manager with a flashlight, but they let the protagonist alone while he was surrounded by spotlights. My theory would be that these monsters are primitive and only attack things that are weaker then them, except instead of judging by physical appearance or by the number of people, they judge the light source. For example: the campers were killed because a fire doesn't create much light, so by their standards their weak. The manager had a flashlight, so he was on an equal playing field. The protagonist was surrounded by light, which makes them think that he's strong.

I know this is almost a year old, but yes!!! Also saying that HP ammo is overkill...? I don't know a single cop that doesn't use HP ammo. I get that the idea of using ball ammo in an AR-15 in the woods makes sense, but HP in a caliber that's only slightly larger than a .22 definitely isn't overkill. Additionally, have you seen Gavin?

My guess is the Hodag.The Hodag aka The Bovinus spiritualis is a ferocious animal native to Wisconsin. The black Hodag was first discovered in 1893 and is the largest of the several Hodag species. It has two horns and a series of spikes along its spine. It is known to be attracted to lights, loud sounds, and have a tough leathery hide. Is also known to leave nothing of it's victims behind, even eating bones. I think that explains the hollow points, the it being attracted to lights thing, and only blood being left behind. What's your guess?

I watched the last big eclipse deep in the Appalachian mountains. When the sun darkened, every animal in the woods went dead silent for a few seconds. Can confirm, silent woods are terrifying.

I'm feeling more wendigo/fleshgait vibes from this. Skinwalkers dont really eat people, they mostly just fuck around with them, since skinwalkers are just shamans that use blood magic to transform into animals. They're still people, and eating another person, by their culture (depending on the tribe and locale of course), would turn them into a wendigo, so they wouldnt do it

Definetly not any kind of wendigo (though there have been stories of wendigo's traveling and living in packs/communities ex. Cryptid task force, and I forget the name but another one of the cryptid hunter stories) This sounds like some kind of scp type shit though

A number of years ago, I had the bright idea to hike up to an overlook with a friend on the 4th of July. The view from the outlook went out into the horizon. We watched ALL of the fireworks that night that went off in all of these different cities and locations. Then it came time to hike back down and we both realized we didn't think to bring flashlights. This was before the flashlight feature on cell phones. It was fun.
