Park Tool TS-2 Restored With TS-2.2 Components

In this video, I bring my 1995 Park Tool TS-2 truing stand up to 2020 standards. You would not believe how much grunge this thing had built up over the last 25 years, but I completely disassembled the stand and replaced all the bushings, main shaft assembly, caliper springs, and calipers used on the TS-2.2 model. I used the Park Tool TS-RK rebuild kit and 238K caliper upgrade kit. My truing stand feels and works better than when it was new!

I got one of these for 30 dollars on Facebook market place. Calipers were shot. Knobs missing. I ordered new calipers.... $14 On Amazon. Made knobs out of rubber bungs. Took it apart, cleaned it. Oil and grease Already made my money back and then some. Triple... Im making a tray for it now out of a lid I found from an igloo cooler. Thanks ... I still need to work on setting its alignment to the hair. I wouldike to fully restore it. But...parks parts are a little pricey.

Nice video. Mine is ancient. I bought it from a retired Schwinn dealer. The decals say Schwinn Approved rather than Park.

Oh nice! I used to work at a Schwinn shop in the mid 80's and they had one with the Schwinn decals. I'm pretty sure that's the original Park stand or the TS-1, although I don't think they had models for them until the TS-2 came out.

I don’t think I have ever seen a mechanic torque the arms too much.

if it isn't broken, don't 'fix' it. just clean it.

The rebuild kits with updated parts are pretty inexpensive all things considered. The difference in before and after makes a HUGE difference in feel and the ability to easily adjust the truing stand moving forward.
