By far this was one of the most greatest video tutorial. It's on the fly, see the hardships and see behind the camera. They way you used to walk, squat and everything makes me to see how hard this kind of life is to adapt but in the end, you are proud of your product and that makes me want to do this job.

Really inspirational for people wanting to learn more about photography and cinematography in a no-nonsense way that is down to earth and easy to understand because you show your thought process. I see so many tutorials online which simply don't show their thought process behind their actions and things - it's refreshing to see.

Shoot the scenes you know believe youre going to use for slow motion in a high fps, like 120fps, then in post, you can slow it down and it will be smooth.
@LordArioh
@LordArioh 5 жыл бұрын
1DX2 and RED can record 1080p in 120 fps. I believe he shot entire event in 120 fps (cuz lots of shots were jumping from normal speed to slow mo, and that since shutter speed was at least 240 of a sec, he bumped ISO that high). when you got glidecam and slow down footage 5 times plus a touch of warp stabilizer, it's gonna be insanely smooth.

how long should a final wedding video be?

I prefered 30 minutes but some insist on ten bloody hours. I say that you might as well take all the footage off the security cameras. Stopped doing them in the finish because people haven't got a clue how much work is involved and think they can get your work for free. Photographers command £1-3,000 shoot RAW and click a million times and end up with a hundred keepers that take a few hours to touch up. I'd switch to photography if you want to do weddings.

thank you very much onenarrowdoor, I will put that into consideration and try to weigh the two sides of photography and videoshooting, post production is actually the real tasking job

Ive only came across cinemtagraphers that do weddings to create at max 15 to 20 minute videos and that is one of their higher tier packages.

Parker Walbeck I just asked the same question so thanks for the detailed answer. It's true - variable ND's are a pain but I push on with them simply to keep true to that rule... perhaps I'll loosen up a bit on that and see how it goes 👌🏼

Devon Flair canon c100 has mechanical built-in ND's from 2 to 6 stops. google it.

Olegasphoto happy to Google - but didn't know what you were referring to when you made the original comment. Cheers for the heads up anyway 👍🏼

What’s your recommendation on frame rates? 24 always look smooth but wouldn’t produce the best slow-mo

Parker shoots at 60frames and converts it to 23.976 in post to make slow motion. Hope this helps!
