@@Nikita-jo4cl Well said.. I can hold and carry a conversation about almost anything with almost anyone and yet I find myself probably one of the loneliest sods on the planet.. I hope you and others find this amusing, because it is a classic example of my sense of humour.. I am a total 50/50 clash and melting pot of both my parents.. Dad, was a meat eating loner, long distance truck driver and mum was a way OTT talk the hind legs of a Donkey sociable cleaner/cashier vegan.. How on earth am I suppose to cope? Oops did I just think that out loud.? Warning, brief trip down misery/memory lane: My earliest recollection there was going to be problems in my future life was when my nan gave me a chicken leg to eat she had cooked for me when I was very young. I looked at it and looked up at her and immediately burst into tears.. What's up she asked? I don't know I said it's a dead animal I am eating.. Uncle said just put salt on it.. Trouble is he was right. What a bloody fecked up life I have been living (mostly solo) since..

Bumped into Billy, when he was sat outside (on his own) at a corner cafe, drinking coffee at midnight, in Xlendi Bay Gozo in 2003. He told us he had just made a film with Tom Cruise, (Last Samurai) which is why he had got rid of the purple moustache and beard he had been sporting around that time. He graciously signed his autograph on a cafe receipt and posed for a photo. He must have spent 3-4 minutes chatting to us. Lovely bloke.

Now they all have the title Sir, and well deserved. In 1985 Sir David received his knighthood. In honour of his services to broadcasting, Sir Michael received a CBE from Prince Charles in 2000, before being Knighted by the Queen in 2008 in the New Year's Honours list. Billy was awarded a knighthood back in 2017, a few weeks before his 75th birthday. The honour was given to him by Prince William in a special ceremony. All honored in their own right, never to be copied, each one, one of a kind.

Yes, but sadly though very well deserved by these 3, they got the same title as SIR Jimmy Savile (🤮) and SIR Tony Blair ( 🤮) . We’ll probably have Lord Rishi Sunak next !!! And don’t start name on LORD Paul. Met him, know all about him and see his connections to Wolverhampton ‘ university ‘. Maybe we should have more scrutiny of this ludicrous ‘ honours ‘ system with a public vote every couple of years on who is TRULY deserving ! These 3 clearly are - love them all.

@@lorraineydays57 Oh, glad to hear that was done posthumously anyway. You do seriously wonder at the intelligence ( or lack of ) of the royal family though, cos wasn’t he a personal friend of Prince Charles, and Charlie Boy’s been in trouble again for getting titles for rich dubious Arabs who contribute to his charities. Funnily enough, my cousin worked as a nurse at ‘ Jimmy’s ‘ the hospital in Leeds where Savile volunteered , and though she didn’t know what was really going on always said there was something really creepy about him ( which is obvious when you look back at his interviews etc ) and that the way he had virtually free reign unsupervised in the hospital was really bad . I’m a catholic, but loathe the institution of the Catholic Church and most Catholics I’ve ever known who have been bigoted hypocrites , but Savile was a supposedly ‘ good catholic ‘ was he given the bene merente or similar by the Pope ? Some of the world’s worst dictators have been ‘ good practising Catholics ‘ - Pinochet, Marcos, Franco ! I rest my case ! 😡😡😡😡😡

Gosh I love David Attenborough. I went to Leicester University where his father was the first Vice Chancellor because I wanted to be an ecologist being heavily influenced by Rachel Carson’s book ‘ Silent Spring ‘. Billy Connolly is SO funny too - a real ‘ working class hero ‘ and yet also a very serious actor with Judi Dench in the film ‘ Mrs Brown ‘.

This interview is, and will always be, my favourite. The best interviewer of his time, with the ability to bring the best out in everyone, get to the roots of the person. The best comedian to come from his time, this being the only time I have ever seen him shut up and let others have their say. The best naturalist to ever, past, present and future, to bless us with his interpretation of life. Their time is almost over, but they will always be trasured and thought of as champions of their fields.

Can’t quite work out if you are slightly older or younger than me. As I was a biologist I watched ‘ Bellamy on Botany ‘ on my tutor’s recommendation then there was The Foresight Saga and The Pallisers and yes, I loved The Generation Game, but some pesky lads visiting Gfs in my Hall of Residence always wanted to watch the bloody football !

such great television, Attenborough's passion is absolutely magnetic, it was wonderful to see him not interrupted by interviewer or guest providing comic relief...or the audience clapping something he said like it might today on a talk show,... they don't seem to be a platform for this kind of content anymore

I had the pleasure of Billy Connolly's company in a garage after his Usher Hall gig in Edinburgh and he's a good guy just what you would expect. The girl on the till invited him in for a coffee and he never missed a beat. Two minutes in the door he was one of the lads. There's a certain irony when they say art depicts life ... it's spot on. Good luck Billy...
