Speech synthesis software has come a long way. This text to speak voice actually works reasonably well. I didn't realize it was an AI voice at first.

8:40 - You could just enable Normals in render passes, render single image and save Image and Normal passes. It sounds complicated, but it is actually just two clicks.

This is really good! My only critique is that feathers are asymmetrical, so for an authentic looking feather, say if someone is making just one or a few that will be very visible, you should make sure one side is a little wider than the other. edit: nm you did do it for the flight feathers

Good workflow. Though I usually cut the corners by using more automated approach, I doubt you can achieve the same realistic result using hair particle systems. This is the case when taking the time by manual placing and tweaking individual hair cards makes the model look very good.

I have to say that I don't get the same results at 2:20 despite doing the exact same thing. The hair spread out unevenly in his version but evenly in mine. No matter the Blender Version. I found out that he had made a change without showing it.

Late response, but for anyone else with issues, while i cant 1 for 1 make what is being done here, i found two major things. 1 check your normals, make sure they are facing the right direction, two i found that hair going over the tip at the top is very much influenced by the height of the 'cone' tip you create on the stem, so shortening that can help as it seems to not do it if its two tall. Also be aware that if you pole is in a different orientation then in this video, you have to scale different directions (Watch and match the Axis tool in the top right if you want to avoid doing this.)

well done but i live with one of these guys so i keep getting uncanny vally vibes, as far as feathers go absolute wonderful job, wasnt what i was looking for but still awsome, i was searching how to make feathers for a harpy costume. hmm i wonder how thing a 3d printer can print and if i can make it via that way? OHHHHHHH< then i can use this as a way with flexiable liquid when cured. oh this could come in handy im typing as i think, OH tthen i just layer the stuff ovever the fabric. BY GEORGE I THINK WE GOT IT. now i just need the right 3d printer and probably 100s and 100s and 100s of dollars of liquid and start printing now so all the pieces can be printed by halloween.
